I was heading down 455 here is wiesbaden yesterday at about 3:30pm. As usual the traffic was slowing down to about 20 mph. To my delight there was a late 90s Cobra in the right lane. As I rolled up beside him I looked over you see him checking out the Firechicken......so I gave him alittle bit of sound (6000rpms) on the tach. He responded right back. traffic at this time is picking up in front of us(a good distance between us and them). He was reading my mind...... about that time we gun it....I'm in 1st (w/the TCS off)and hammer away. (I'm already at a 20mph roll) the tires spin (the Firechicken squats and front lifts) I start taking him to town, grabbed 2nd (some more spin ) and then noticed that he gave up . I kinda laughed and drove like a normal person the rest of the way home. I really wished that I could of run him on top end just to see what he had. Maybe another day

I think the dual scoops up front might have given it away

late 90's ????
The only Snakes that will kill (and I mean that as an owner of a LT1) and run with an LS1 are the 99 and 01's.
A 03, fugitaboutit............he will own you 4 ways till sunday.
Good kill, either way.........

I know a 97 cobra there you can race. But if you run him you better have your game face on. Silas knows who I am talking about. Thats one snake that wont get charmed so easily. It is a black 97 cobra with 18 inch rims I am sure the Ramstein guys know which one it is. But you better run him soon because after this winter he will be going big. And the car has top end too. And can handle twisties but the owner only likes the 1320.

Hey Rob Yeah we know an 03 pretty badass . but it still got fubar brakes and suspension for any serious hot lapping situation.
Iwish I had one though. Ireally like the car. What I really wish is that a magnacharger would fit on my camaro like it fits on a vette. Then an 03could fugitaoutit . The power on ls6 headed motor is 550hp.

Time to talk smack I would skull drag a 03. However I have not done it yet. I think there is more driver than car to win a race. Val can drive so Mr. 03 Cobra who cant drive still needs to watch out for 4th gens. I skull drug a Modena 360 by alot.

I guess it doesn't matter that he got killed, but I bet he'll think twice everytime he sees me! Hawk is right, alot of it is the driver, if he (MR Cobra) can't drive it, he's going to get spanked ! I'm not the best driver in the world but I would like to think I can hold my own .

Sorry Dude, but I think the fog of Europe still has you enveloped. The fastest LT1 finally went 8.9's thats with major strokeage and turbo. Fastest LS1? I dunno, probably arond in there, tenth or 2 eitherway I guess.
The '03's are already in the 8's with the STOCK BLOCK/INTERNALS!!!! The motor is built to handle boost, (how about 22psi? ....thats what they are running with the Kenny Bell blower swap). If your poor after the big payment and cant dive that deep, then $1000 gets you in the 11's on STREET tires (not E/T streets either) the stock Goodyear F1's. Dont let brand loyalty blind you. The Cobra is the first in a few good cars coming out in the next few years, and GM doesnt have any of them.
Sure the same idiot that can get a 02 LS1 in the 15's is also buying the terminator and giving it a bad name. But cmon, if you ever wondered what the other guy felt like when your new stock LT1/LS1 was crushing his highly modded car, nows your chance.
Roy as far as the brakes, since when did Fbody's come with stellar brakes/suspension? Both cars are on a dated chasiss with bean counter parts.
I dont own either car, and I like both of them, but geez facts is facts.

You will gwt your chance to run a lot of 03 cobras here HAWK. but they are running 11s with mild bolt ons. The only thing is they are breaking half shafts like crazy. So a lot of them are going to live axles. Watch out for them they are the ones that can drop the hammer at the line and will get you quick. Mustangs are the choice car around here so you will get to race plenty of them. I have counted easily 10-12 different 03 cobras here and most of them have mods.

not to beat a dead horse, but I dont want you to think I'm trying to slap you in the face with the Blue Oval Flag.
But for crying out loud, how many vids do you want me to send you of a '03 snake owning a Z06? They are without a doubt the best thing going. When I had my 01 Cobra I was seriously looking to upgrade, problem is, they went really cheap on the interior, same brakes (2piston Alcons....another brake jab at stock F bodies Roy ) same 31 spline half shafts (GKN halfshafts are indestructable, and unobtainable) same suspension (fully independant rear.....last jab at stock F bodies Roy ) and a 5k increase in price didnt justify it.
Do I think the best looking car is a F body? You bet. And there is no denying the potential of the SBC. Good gawd look at some of the combos out there. However if you are running a boosted Fbody or a sniffing Fbody, I would be very afraid of a boosted terminator running a 75shot (very popular btw).
Hawk your car is DA Bomb, and you will beat more than your fair share of other cars. But I pity the fool that lines up next to a '03 with a kenny bell, live rear, and slicks.

Hey Rob Thanks for keeping me in mind. But Hey that is what I am talking about. I really do like the 03. Brand loyalty means nothing to me. I was a heavy mustanger for the longest . Had one of the fastest at Campbell from 92 to 94 Soldit .
But lets not forget the 4 door merc whoopin . I guess that comes down to driver skill on stangers part.
