After 2 (8 hour) days the new cam, timing chain/gears, ported oil pump, & ASP pulley are in and running! I want to THANK Roy for all his help, time, and sacrificing his family time to come out to Wiesbaden to help me. Car fired right up first crank! No problems, no leaks, sounds BAD ASS (atleast to me it does). Well I took it out his morning (did the break in yesterday) and did some back road driving, in city driving, then it was off to the autobahn for alittle shake down. I got on autobahn 3 heading south from Idstien. I was really impressed with the "push you back in the seat power" but kept hitting the rev limiter at 6190RPMs(thought I had reset it to 6600RPMs) and the speedometer was off(next to a big rig going the same speed & my speedo was reading 100MPH) so I pulled in the Aral and parked. Hooked up the Predator tuner and proceeded to go back through all the settings for speedometer, RPM limits, & cooling fans. This time I actually got the modified program to save the changes into the ECM. Started it and did a quick RPM check, 6600rpms on the money . Back on to the autobahn I went, as I was getting on I decided to be nice and let a slower car pass before hammering away on it. Glad I did. To my surprise there was a Carrera 4 in the left lane coming up along side of me as I'm just getting into it. Shifted into 3rd and put it down......that is when the ass whoppen began, ran it to 6500 on the tach, grabbed 4th looked back and he was fading, hit 6500 again, grabbed 5th looked back and he was still fading. I figured I proved my point.....I looked at the speedo, it was buried I let out of it and shifted into 6th, as I was slowing to 130mph he blew past me...too late by that time, the Firechicken proved it's new found power was well worth the time and effort. What a GREAT way to start off the weekend

Sounds great! I'm glad you complete install went w/out a hitch. That's a 1st ever that I've heard of from over here! Oil pump? Man you guys were working! Wish I could've been there to watch and assist.
Did you gain power all across the board and the the pwr band move up in rpm? Can't wait to hear it!

A cam really wakes a LS1 up.

SRZ, Yeah I was waiting for the other shoe to drop the whole time. The install went very smoothe!!!! Yep put in a ported LS6 oil pump from TSP so when I do the oil cooler I won't have any worries about oil circulation. The power band is now from 1700-6600rpms and you can really notice it!!
Roy, the smiles keep coming!!!
IROC, I put the Tunder Racing TR224 114LSA in it, what a difference. It gave me alot more than I expected. Can't wait to see what headers and a good tune do for it!!
Hawk, would of never thought that just a cam would have made that much of a difference.
Well I took it out again this morning, out on the back roads (curvies). For some reason it looks like the rev limiter is still set at 6190 in 1st gear, either that or it is taching up so fast that the factory tach isn't keeping up with the engine. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th have no problem going to 6600RPM on the tach. Haven't gotten anymore SES lights so I'm happy about that but then again I haven't been doing much stop and go driving. The Predator Sport tune seems to be a pretty decent tune for this cam but I'm sure that there is more HP to be had in the tuning department

Val some people have noticed that the tach is a little slow when reving in first gear. Does the shift light fire off first befire the rev limiter in First. if not then it is the rev limiter for 1st gear.

Roy,
I stand corrected, it is 1st & 2nd that are going to 6190rpms. NO shiftlight It doesn't make any sense to me why it would be only those 2 gears. I rest the shiftlight today to fire off at 6400rpms to give me time to shift before the rev limiter.
Thanks Jack

I saw a guy test driving a 996 turbo today, and I thought he was gonna play. Unfortunately he was behind me and he turned.

Jack,
Don't you hate that, just when you think you have one on the hook they don't want to play!!! Better hunting next time.
