I was driving my 1986 BMW 316 (laugh now and get it over with) down a local two way road (Rue Ath for any of you familiar with the area) when I looked in my rear view mirror and noticed a Porsche Cayenne coming up on me. I was doing about 100kph (yes, it does go that fast) when I saw the Cayenne shift to the other lane to pass me. As it shifted lanes it began accellerating very forcefully I heard this strange hissing sound then read TURBO as it passed.

450hp from anything will make it accelerate quite quickly. A 1.6L has no chance of hanging with it.

It was just nice to see something like that every once in a while.

hm ...

<begin personal opinion>
there are nicer things with a Porsche Logo on them than a Cayenne.

Actually, a Fiat with a Porsche logo on it is nicer than a Cayenne (though not necessarily faster ;))
<end personal opinion>

Anyway, I'd take the engine from a Cayenne anytime ;)

P.S. - yes, I know Stef has one in his garage for his wife ...

I agree that there are nicer things out there, but you rarely see Cayennes, much less the Turbos where I am. I also think that the engine is incredible. Even if it has the aerodynamics of a brick.

It was just a nice sound hearing it blow by me the way it did.

I always thought that the Fiat clan put Ferrari stickers all over their "exotics".......
The wife nearly had a Cayenne S, but now she is quite happy with an A6 Quattro (and it goes a lot further on a tank of gas.)
