As far as most of you prbably know, on german cigarettes, there is a warning text like this:
"Smoking is bad for your health, makes your sperm go dead and can kill you!"

I am asking for a regulation like this-

Every Porsche should carry the following warning on the rear window:

"Playing with or smoking Porsches is extremely dangerous for your car, especially your brakes!"

The story:

I visited ToadKiller on Sunday for looking at the Z28 that got smashed by a truck. Well, I bought it and headed happily home on my 400 mile home trip around 6 pm.

Around Stuttgart I´m riding the left lane at an relaxed 125 mph when some little Zuffenhausen jerk starts flashing his lights behind me. Porsche.
I´m in absolutely no mood for racing, so off i go to the right lane.
What does that jerk do??? He speeds by me, gets straight in front of my car and starts braking as hell - then I noticed the next exit 300m mark and knew whats up! He passed me at 130+ mph to get to the exit! MORONS! I hammered down on the brake and prayed to all saints that I will not produce "Porsche on a Camaro Nose Kebab" and swerve into the emergency lane. Luckily that ba****d released his brakes a little and took the exit at breakneck speed.

So far so good. I´m alive and well. As it started raining heavily and the T-Top Camaro is not known for being quiet i did not notice anything.

However as I got off the A-Bahn and came to my first total stop, I opened the window to get some fresh air in. As soon as i fell below 20 mph - SCREECH, GRIND, VIBRATE... OMG!

I pull to the side and then it is plainly evident: Brake Toast.

So this little moron cost me a good US$ 500 in parts for his stupidity.

2 front discs
2 front pads
1 brake line (probably torn off or damaged as it is leaking)

Well, quite a kill story, huh?

Headline for Bild:
"Porsche kills Camaro brakes in utter outbreak of Autobahn-Moronity!"

Hmmm, looks like your pads weren't in the best shape anyway and/or there was something wrong with your rotors. Because that situation is nearly exactly the situation you get in every Hockenheim lap when braking after the Parabolica. The LS1 brake system isn't the best but even with stock rotors and pads it survived (talking about my car) several laps. LT1 is a different story, I remember riding with Jason there and the brakes were finished after 1 lap. But you've got an LS1, right?

Well anyway that sucks... :? You better replace the stock rotors/pads with something else (e.g. Brembo OEM and Hawk HP+).

Ben

Sounds like your brakes were do for changeout prior. The tuxedo vokswagen just sped up the process and confirmed it.
