Well, we had a halfway decent turnout ... some minor nuisances ... like e.g. finding out that LT1 brakes are only good for one lap

Went for a ride with Roy ... tnx! Shoulder is still somewhat sore thanks to the GT3 brakes, but it was worth it ...

Anyway, one thing was really fun ... there was a Ferrari 360 there ... and Stef just couldn't keep himself for hunting him down ... and hunt he did ... took him 4 laps to go from 30sec behind (due to original lineup) to 5 seconds ahead (20 ahead on the 5th lap) ... so much for rich boys' toys ... :)

Will post some pics tomorrow I recon ...

Yeah it was a great afternoon. See you again next Thursday?

Roy, I told you about the sound coming from the front, now that I found out that it definitely changes with direction changes, I guess it's the wheel bearings... $280 GM list price for one bearing, f*cking expensive...

Ben

On my superbeetle the heatshields regularly heat-warp against the disks (wonder why) and when I turn the wheelbearings has just enough play to allow the disks to touch the heatshields and make some horrible scraping noise.

I work in the motor industry and know the profit margins......
I would never go and buy a wheel bearing from a GM dealer. Bet you it is a standard part out of a catalog (manufacturers usually don't invent parts if they can buy them off the shelf). Go to a reputable company like SKF etc ans buy it there. By the way: the Japanese make some of the best bearings around (but not the Chinese!!!!!!!!)

Thanks Stef, I sent them a mail and asked if they're making wheel bearings for my car... :)

Next Thursday, next Thursday!!! :)

Roy:
Thanks for the link but when I click on it I get redirected to this:
http://www.freep.com/index/autos.htm

...and I can't find an online shop for car parts there...? :?:

(Price sounds good $106, is that the GM original bearing?)

Ben
