Thinkin' about heading up there next weekend. Would much rather go with some folks (read:more fun.) Silas brought up the fact that I should NOT leave Germany without rippin' in on the Nurburgring a few laps.
My future ex-wife will be getting back from TDY this monday so I'll have a sitter for next weekend. Don't really wanna hang around her all weekend.
From what I can read on the website, the track will be open the 8th and 9th. Someone make sure I'm reading correctly.
Let's run!!!

I am coming again... did like it (even with the slow car) - prefer Sunday, but Saturday is ok also.

How much gas money or coupons should I bring?? Is it a 14 mile lap or 14 kilometers???
I might have a couple of Mustanger buddies tag along as well.
Do you have to have a helmet?? Or do they even care???

Dave
Its around 21 km long
No helmet required
If your tanked before you leave and catch a ESSO or BP fore you get there 100 litre book should be good, but I do not know how much fuel a Vobra drinks when mashed.

been watching the 24 hour race all morning,
can't wait to go back on the ring again.
But want to go early, like Roy said the last time: It is no fun anymore when there is too many crazy bike racers on there.

So are we going on Saturday? (Since Roy can't make it Sunday)
Whoever wants to go from K-Town Area we can meet at Landstuhl truck stop (I'm coming down A62/Pirmasens) 0630am

Okey dokey then ! Looks like it'll be saturday then.
Who's bringin' the bratwurst and cokes ?? I'd like to convoy Squirrel... but not crazy about pacin' a Corolla!! How fast will you go in that can of rice? On the other hand, I do need to have some gas for the ring don't I ?
You gonna go to Sembach Sunday Roy? I need something to do that day too. My future ex-wife will be back..... So I have a baby-sitter that day too.

Looks like a booked weekend to me...
ring on sat, sem on sun.
CK say it this way: The average speed the Corolla is used to go you will get in serious trouble with the Highway Patrol back in US in a few weeks...
But no problem, I go on my own.
Before I go for sure I need new brakes, they were already bad before last time. Also badly scratched the front right rim on a sidewalk yesterday while avoiding to get a race bike driver driving up my hood. Looks like I am getting used to work on the car (not even a 'maro yet ) during the week to have it ready for the weekend.

I don't mind convoying with you Squirrel. I was joking about the speed of your eco-can.
And please don't remind me about Johnny Law back in the states. That's gonna suck big wind. I need to get my speed thrills in while I'm still here. I did find out that there is what they call "open tracking events" in the states. CarGuys rents out the big name tracks for John Q. Public to run on when no bigtime races are going on. They run like 600-750.00 bones for an event though.
Don't feel bad, I gouged the sh** outa my rear rim and tire whilst squeezing my way through a narrow street between a curb and a bigass bus. I had no choice but to go through there.
So what time should we meet at the Sheel station in Landstuhl??
How much does it cost to do 5 laps?
