Does the Nurburgring still have open track times? How does that work? There has to be is some type of "your own damn fault" wavier you have to sign. I've always wanted to run on a track. Its gotta be a blast! (Unless I wad it up in turn 4). The suspension is going to get alot of attention this winter. What would be a good place to start? Right now the only sus. mod is a strut tower brace and better rotors. Thanks for the info.:-ok:

sign nothing ,just buy your ticket and drive. We have had a few members fly off the track or get into brake trouble.

I keep forgeting that Europe doesn't blood sucking leeches, uh I mean lawyers, around every corner waiting to sue someone. You know, "'You should sue the track for letting you slide off the track!'" kinda stuff. I've looked around here and found the N-Ring sites. Very cool stuff!!!

Roy is definitely the one to talk to about it! He lives there in the Summer. He even has his own pit crew.. It's pretty amazing to watch him in action. Those brakes are phenomenal. If you have a few grand laying around, you should at least get the front set, assuming you need an upgrade. ;)

It's open all year:

You'll find me there whenever the weather is OK (i.e. it doesn't rain). :)

LOL, no, but that's a good idea! :D
However, it will be closed when it's snowing or when it's covered with ice.

No no no, as I said it's closed when there is snow or ice. But then you can walk there or take a sledge. A friend of mine did this last year, must be fun. :)

Jack:
Last year I wasn't there in December and January but started the season on February 2nd.

That makes sense man! I've already been in one accident involving black ice, so needless to say, that was enough for me. If I'm here in February, I might just go with you! ;)

I know there are noise restrictions. I have shorty headers, Hooker cat-back and off-road pipe, would this be too loud and how strict they are regards noise level ?

Trust me when I say this....not so sound cocky. I'm the loudest one here and if I can get by w/ a closed off exhaust you'll get by w/ your setup.

Well, I think Roy did have some problems with noise... even was temporarily banned. However, ott, they don't check EVERY car EVERY time, they pick one when they think it's too loud.

during the off days and off times when there is not much people there and the track is pretty empty (i'll have the Nordshcleife to my self..he he he..)

you will see me there on my hayabusa bike-

I will have sticker/decals from various bike shops on my bike-

grounding down my knee sliders around corners-

warp factor 9 on the straights

a tiny little guy on the biggest most powerfull bike there

flowing effortlessly like water flowing down a mountain stream.

calculated application of skill and precision.

I have started going to the Nurburgring again and a couple of the corners that have not been resurfaced in the past couple years are starting to get a bit bumpy causing an "intermittent" traction situation. one corner ( the first carousel) is so bad that I had to slow down and let a porsche pass right next to me and when he did, his tires where sqeaking, chirping, skipping and hopping sideways towards me.

I looked at him and he raised his hand and apologized politeley.

The Nurburgring is still a blast, traction has been excellent, even if the tires slide a little. I only have the best of " fulfillment " even when I have been on the track in rain or even when there have been some frost on the surface in shaded areas.

I think those couple rough corners are the next to be resurfaced.

please pay attention to your tires traction picture when going over crests, on the gas, brakes and off camber changes on the road.

and remember, don't try to race . Practice your technical ability and skill.
And be courteous to those on the track with you.

I thoroughly broke in a new set of knee sliders on the hayabusa.
