Damn Roy! I was waiting for a response from you if you were a definite! I was coming IF you were gonna post prior to going or not! Had my money and a full tank of gas!
SO I will ask you again. When are you going next time? AND IF YOU DO LET ME KNOW SO I CAN JOIN YOU! OK?
Sounds like you had fun. No Z06's were there I assume. Any noise restrictions? Was there alot of traffic on the track? Did ya video tape it?
Man I wanted to be there! Jack too!

John
Don't know when I will be going again, but it is open again in two weeks .
Yes there was a couple of Z06's there but they were not on the same pace that I was trying to accomplish.
As for noise restrictions , All they say is no race pipes allowed .
Also got a updated race map.
But Let me say again Street pads will only last about a half a lap if you try to run a freakin race pace, before they would fade. folks if you just be careful in the brake zones.

Hockenheim is fun! But Roy is right, without good brakes you have to slow yourself. I was there in the beginning of April (stock brakes!) and tried to take it easy... fun anyway.
Like to go there again...

I think so too but it sucks that that track is not the full length it used to be.

I know I missed this post by a few months This is a "have to do" also, gonna have to get some better brake pads(make a mental note of that). How long is it now that it's been shortened?? Would it be worth bringing the Kumho V700s down for a 20min session . Gottta see if I can give you a run for your money Roy or anybody else who wants to go at it

Session length varies due to traffic conditions. I once drove for 30 minutes (instead of just 15) for 12 Euros.

Roy,
You don't think "you" or the "car" or both could last 30 mins??? I've never been there before nor have I seen the course lay out (on a map or in person ). Is the track that hard on tires???? I ask because there are guys back in the states that use the V700s and Hoosiers on road courses & I'd like to think that I didn't waste all that money on rims and tires just for auto-x only......If I did then I guess I'll have to REALLY push the envelope at the auto-x this year!!!!
I'm in no way questioning your driving skills as we both know that you CAN drive the crap out of your car!!!!! I'm just wondering if the track is that hard

Val
Val I don't think my car would last it . The last time I went Iwas killing the competition with the road race tires on every body in the turns .
It is a formula1 approve track. a Fbody can see speeds in the 150mph range in a couple places on the track and then comes the brakes and the turns. Definitely different driving style then the N-ring. But hey I am a slow learner so any body should be able to handle it .
It is only as hard as you want to push it . The harder you push the harder the track is .

Yes I have. Wanted to drive on the Nuerburgring GP track in fall 2002 on a Pistenclub event and wasn't allowed because of my Borla (was open then = too loud ).
They are organizing interesting events although the prices seem a bit high for me... they're also in Bitburg.

shoot Ben their pricesare cheap compared to the prices you have to pay in the states . I think I will try a couple of their events especially at theH ring. I have got to devise a a silencer for the N-ring though.

OK, I admit, the Pistenclub's prices are reasonable compared to those of e.g. Ferrari clubs renting a track etc. that's right. Are the prices in the US really that high?
Yeah you have to do something for N'ring. As you've experienced, in Hockenheim they don't care for sound/dB level but in Nuerburg they do...

Ok call me stupid, are you talking about a closed group session ??
Roy, if your planning on doing this would you mind me tagging along?? As for the silencer, I've got a few good ideas for it...... I'm wanting to make up for all the racing that I missed do to the vacation that I'm on.

Val, yes these are closed group sessions , that from what I read teach you the correct line for particular tracks , Pricing does not look too bad .
Their 2004 schedule is not up yet but hopefully soon unless I missed it.
Val you are more than welcome , Infact I was waiting to find out more info first before asking , but the cat is out of the bag.
