Roy, you need to update that map - that's the course before they rebuilt it last year ... it's a lot shorter now ...

Hm Roy you really need to update it.And the other part is that when they have the touristenfahrten they just let you drive that little track what you see all the way down on your map.Even after the rebuild it you can just drive that little track on your map.

Hm ... during the US car meet fall of '01 we ran the whole track ... but even the infield can be treacherous (beware, slippery when wet) ...

@Garry:Yes i know that back at the Us-Car show the let everybody drive the whole big track. But that was just for the show.
For the normal touristenfahrten every sunday until 31.3.2003 they are sunday when there is no snow or ice on the track. And from the 1.04.2003 every thursday from 4.p.m until 8-9p.m. And just that little track on the map.I wish i could drive one time that old big track whitout 200cars on it back at the us-car show.

Yes I know they changed it . I was only refering to the short course. This was the only map I had that showed the short course .
And Garry I beleve you know the nuances of coming too fast by the granstands there by hte south kurve. In the wet , with a passenger .
Is there some body here that can host some video from last year on the short course? Ist a Porsche killing Ferrari slaying Zo6.

I know about the short (infield) course.
I was a guest for a German Bike racing team when I first visited the track around 2-3 years ago.
They do tend to only use the short course alot.
And now that they have redone the full track and made it shorter really disappoints me.

So the hockenheimring is open thursday from 4.p.m. to i think 9.p.m. And it cost for 15-20min run on the track 12euro. But not every thursday when they have a big race they make no touristenfahrten.

Well I just got back from doing three sessions there. Man was that a blast.
That track is suited for high horsepower and you gotta have brakes and good ones to stop. Only got passed by a couple of 911 turbos on the long stretches and by M Roadster just past the the Sachs Curve. I have to say I ought brake everything on the track. I am still a little pumped.
And yes Iwas the loudest car out there . That car was echoing thru the grandstands.
Well I found out I will be replacing my springs and shocks for some custom ones . So these will be up for sale real cheap.
Guys and gals Just let me warn you if your brakes aren't up tp snnuff ,The track workers might be pulling you out of the kitty litter.
