I was a passenger. This was the first time I was wearing my helmet in Hockenheim and it was good to have it. :?

Damn...dunno if you had seen this vid. Sorry about posting it publicly. It happened to me to in the fall. Though mine I guarentee you was far more stupid.

Hope it works out. If it is any consolation my insurance carrier didn't ask many questions when I tried to file a claim.

Damn Roy! I can't believe that. :( You were only going 80 clicks at that which really boggles my mind. I just knew that was someone else because the way the car was turning you had way too much sway for that slow a speed. Man I'm sorry to see that. Hey look on the bright side...........you've joined the racing strip club! :D Hope you didn't do serious damage to the rear or anything.

Cough up the pics!

Welcome to the club, I couldn't tell how hard you hit from the video, but it didn't look like you did to much damage. Get her patched up and get her back out there

Ben, I'd recomend always wearing a helmet, I wasn't going fast when I hit the Armco at Nurburgring and just barely scratched my paint, but when I got home I found a nice black mark on the side of my helmet and a nice red mark on the inside of my car. I didn't even realize my head had hit.

I've got an SA2000 Simpson Super Bandit and I'd recomend it to anyone. Very light weight and comfortable

... and people wonder why we require helmets at 1on1, both Quartermile and AutoX ... I know I bumped my head often times on the side bar during AutoX ... and that's without wrecking the car ... Hey Ben, I recon the extra weight of your helmet caused a slight weight difference that caused the rear to turn ... it's all your fault!

J/K

Hope you can get it run through your insurance Roy ...

Yeah, but you can't hit a guard rail or wall at Bitburg-AutoX.

Garry, I know. I've been track racing WITHOUT helmet since 2001, now I'm wearing one (albeit not in my car) and something happens... strange, isn't it? :?

Just came back from 5 weeks in the sun and have to read this.......
Roy, we all know that everytime we go to the track it might be a one-way trip (even though nobody want it to be true). Been there, done it myself, so you are in good company.
