Hawk it depends on what you want to do. Can you stand brake howling and dusting? How much do you wanna spend.

I pay roughly 170 Euro for my pads.

Well, that is knida hard to quantify , but they will last through several stock pad sets at race speeds through repeated stops.
Ithink Ben, Val Dave and Silas may be able to comment on pads at Hockenheim and Nuerburgring also.

Bruce, I've had the Hawk HPS, HP+, and padget orange($195). By far the Padgets have been the best for the high speed braking. If you still are running the stock caliper I'd recommend the HP+, they do dust alot but the stopping power is really good. Now that I put the Stoptech brakes on the front with the padgets I won't go back to anything else. The padget orange are a race pad but still have better stopping power than any others I've had on the car to date(I think that the calipers & rotors have alot to do with that!!)

Val is right. HP+ if you are still using the stk caliper it'll help too w/ some ducting. Val how much did those Stoptech run you? Are they still in production for fbodies? I thought I heard somewhere they're were discontinued due to importing prices.

I may just have to switch to the Bear Alcon series if I can't get stoptech's. Movit's are too pricey now due to the Euro which we all can attest to.

StopTech is still in business, the F-body kit is $1900 but I called just after I got back from Iraq and told then I had been deployed and they gave me 25% off. I delt with the guys in the states, they have a rep here in Europe but I didn't want to hassel with the Euro pricing.
I had ducting with the HPs and it worked really good.

I've got the HP+ and I like them... pros/cons what Val and TEK said...

one thing to consider is a full blown race pad race pad at the track (Willwood Hs, PFC-01s, Carbotech XP8,9,10) for the track and a set of nice clean quiet brakes for the street. I never was happy with the "street pads that are suposed to be good enough for the track and I've given up on that Idea.

The bad side is having 2 sets of pads and rotors and changing them out every track day.

The good side is you'll get really good at doing brake work.

I've got new pads coming in for the Wilwoods so I'm going to have to try and bed them in better than the last set. Will try this method...only thing is....where?

Additionally...if you have the setup like a wilwood...it's only the removal of the wheel and one simple bolt to pull the pads out...there is no caliper removal or piston reset. FYI.

I always just find a back country road with a reasonable straight and make sure no one is around.
