I want to get some good 315/35 R17's.
I would normally get some Nitto D/R's from DiscountTireDirect but since I'm in Mannheim, Germany...
They don't have to be D/R's, they just can't be HTR-Z's and they can't cost over 175 euro/tire

Wait a minute...
Do they ship to APO's or do you give them your German address?
My understanding is if you have something shipped UPS to Germany, there's a good chance you'll have to pick it up at customs in Frankfurt. Is this true? If I can still buy through Discount Tire, you just made my day!

$100 for all 4. my last set was 275/295 Kumho MXs from tire rack they are $914 from discount tire they are $1060, so even paying shipping tirerack is still cheaper.
I saw an add for discount tire about 2 months ago that said they still shipped to APOs for free, so I'm willing to bet that they still do.

I've shipped so many tires to my apo but I can't recall cost. 
oh well...ship it to your APO.
