At the same spot once jumped too far and hit the brakes while the wheels were still in the air...... confused the ABS and had no brakes..... you will not believe the smell coming from my shorts

I always brake before and after the "jump spot".

With the Porsche I just dab the brakes before the jump, with a BMW 320 (rent car) I have managed to stay on the throttle till take-off.

I've found out if you go slow enough brakes aren't really necessary. They are just extra weight nice to have items when you want to stop.

hm ... brakes ... can come in handy sometimes ... lost a bolt of the front right caliper just a couple days ago, luckily just before I got to Fulda in the morning ... made it all the way through town just on throttle and hand brake ... complained to the other car place this morning for not tightening them to spec when they changed the wheel bearing a month ago

Glad this didn't happen in the Camaro, the emergency brake in our cars doesn't operate the rear disc brakes but separate tiny brake pads in/from the axle... I guess they'd be gone in a very short time.
