Hi,
just curious what happened to the idea of a meeting at the Nuerburgring?
I was there twice in August, the first time with a friend of mine who drives... ahem... a FORD Probe (they had a Probe meeting there), and the second time on my own. But it is *SO* much fun!!! This is a rollercoaster ride in your car.
We really should try to get some F-Cars together there (if this hasn't already happened, didn't find something in the forum).
Ben

I know what you're saying, Saturday night was the first time I'd ever been on a track, and it was raining, but I was hauling booty, and it was still fun as anything!!! It might be getting too late to arrange anything, but if it's possible, we should look into it....

It's been brought up, but not really as a meeting. The only one I know of that visits there frequently is Roy. I'm up for it once the clutch is fixed.

The Nurburgring is a no joke track. It is very fun but with no margin for error. The track is rough and bumpy with several blind brows and cambers that really tug at you when your out there for . Word of caution if you do better than 6/10ths of what the car is capable . You will probably find the weak link befor Addenauer forst. Which will be mostly brakes. There is only one gravel trap on the whole course and it is before the fuchsrohr. On a off day you can see about 4 to 5 cars come off the track on the car hauler.
Here isa unhappy M3 Camper who thought M3 Brakes were the "He said POOP".
Btw it is open almost year round

Hi,
you are right, Roy. You *have* to be careful if you don't want to wreck your car on the Ring. However, it's not only a problem to lose respect to the Ring after driving there several times but there are also so many people who drive there for the 1st time like crazy although they've never seen this track even on video! I for myself watched several Ring-videos before I went there and so e.g. I knew I had to be careful at Adenauer Forst where a lot of newbies go off the track because they don't know it.
Well, anyway I'd like to see other F-Cars there.
Maybe if someone plans to go there on a weekend he can leave a message here? I don't live that far away from the Ring, 1 to 1 1/2 hours or so...
I thought about going there again probably next Saturday if the weather is OK... it's absolutely no fun in the rain... at least not with our cars.
Ben

Amen to the rain My last visit in late July was nothing but rain but it was fun , Not very many people out there.
Right now I am temporarily banned from the ring because I exceed 95 decibel noise limit . So until I can temporarily quiet it down I will just be a spectator. BTW how many laps you got under your belt. I have about 150 now.

Hi,
150?
Well, as I went there the 1st time in August... until now I have 3 (three) laps... yes.
I'm a bit concerned about the tires; although I could have bought several laps I don't know how it will affect your tires when you do e.g. 10+ laps on a single day...?!

Tire are consumables at the ring just as Brake pads are.
Get a proper alignment for the and rotate your tires often.
To get ten laps in a day is pretty easy but if you do more than 3 back to back It could cause the tires to get a little gooey and possibly chunk on you ,also your brakes would possibly be on border line of just plain giving out form too much heat.. Plus that is a long time to be concentrating on the track and possibly have VW Golf or a Mini Pass you .

How could you possibly be too loud? Those formula 1 cars are insanely loud.

Your right F1 is louder but that isa sanctioned race . When the Nordschleife is open to the public it has a 95 decibel noise limit.
