Main safety equipment I can think of: light on the throttle

No public racing on N'ring, they've got the 24 hour race this weekend!
Check http://www.nuerburgring.de and http://www.hockenheimring.com/Default.aspx?tabid=925 for the dates.
Next public driving dates are:
Hockenheim = Thursday 14 (I will be there)
Nuerburgring = the weekend after that (will be there Saturday 16)
No safety equipment needed except common sense.
Ben

Which seems tough to use for some people (maybe because they don't have any)

Ben, if I read the nurburgring site correctly, it is open the afternoon of 12 Jun beginning at 1745. Can you tell me if that is correct or not. A few of us from work are planning to drive up there if it is open.

Thanks, Ben. Yes, I'll be back up for another weekend day. I just don't know when yet. I go back to the States the last two weeks of this month and then I go to Italy for a couple of weeks in July. Lots of conferences. I do want to bring the Miata up there and try it out.

You know it cost nothing to put a helmet on your head.
I have not yet had a "ring" incident, but one of my buddies f*cked up. He and his passenger smacked their heads together so hard that one of the helmets split. Without helmets that would have been fractured skulls at the least.

I had a mild ring accident my first time there (scraped the wall, scratched the paint). Didn't even know my head had hit anything until the next day when I noticed the scratches on the helmet and went out to look for the marks on the inside of the car. I wouldn't have been hurt bad, but it saved me from a bump on the head, so one less thing the deal with.

Wait till team "no ballz racing" hit (no pun intended) the ring, there will be a major ring accident!

In fact most of the time I don't wear a helmet on the track. However, it definitely helped avoid some headache when I had one when we had the accident, Roy.

That would be Nuerburg or Nüburg or Nüburgring or Nuerburgring or Nordschleife.
Now Nürnberg or Nuremberg has the Norrisring.
These two places are about the same as comparing apples and oranges.
You plug in Nürnberg or Nurnberg on your GPS and you will be going for a trip.

If you mean Nuerburgring/Nordschleife, realize that it's only opened from 1715 to 1930 !
I will go to Nordschleife on Saturday, if you want to rather go then maybe we can meet?
