I feel an evil awakening coming on for next year. I'll be there with my .812 D Stock car... .804 to .812! Ouch! Don't worry Roy, we can compare Raw Times to make you feel better. Rob

I don't even know where to look and at what ... Hm ... according to a list at scca.com, a Firehawk is not eligble?? But they have Formula/TA WS6, and Camaro SS, which are essentially the same ... !?

I ain't got no SFCs ... (that was the Camaro ...) Point I, I was wondering why they would specifically mention a Firehawk ... I guess with the mods coming up (finally!), I'm not AS anymore anyway ...

JeeJee The majority of Opels are grouped together and depending if it is stock it will be in G or H stock. Once it is prepped then it is moved from there o thegroup that it best fits in . But gotta remember that only certain Opels were imported to the US , So there are certain models missing from the pax. So we try to align them as best we can.

AutobahnZ06GT wrote: Excuse me, but what do these numbers mean? I have no idea what they represent, Can someone clue me in thanks. Nick I'm no expert, but basically what the PAX figures try to do is even the playing field a little and in essence try to take the car out of the equation. That is supposed to make it possible to compare driver ability rather than vehicle ability. The higher class your car is in or the more modifications it has comes with a higher PAX rating. Your Raw Times through the course are multiplied by the respective PAX number for your actual time. Example: My car (Dodge SRT-4) is classified in D Stock if it has no modifications. If I add certain modifications to it that make it more competitive it would be classified in C Street Prepared. D Stock = .812 C Street Prepared = .856 If it takes me one minute to get through the course... .812 X 1.00 = .812 .856 X 1.00 = .856 Even though I went through the course the exact same way, I have a heavier penalty against me with the presumably faster car. So that same minute looks faster on paper in the D Stock car. The PAX ratings are derived from historical records within SCCA. It's kind of like bracket racing. It makes it possible for the little guy to compete with the big dogs.

Nick Just FYI for the vettes. With internal engine work and aftermarket brakes you get bumped to SM2, I think a blower would bump you to XP. SS: Stock - brake pads, air filter material, front sway-bar, any DOT legal tire. ASP: OEM internal engine LS1 or LS6, replace suspension with same type (have to use leaf-springs, but any leaf-spring) intake/exhause open. Aftermarket seats allowed. SM2: Race car with full interior. Suspension uses OEM attachment points, Any GM Block everything else is open. brake system is open, but you've got to keep a working parking brake. have to keep a full interior (can't take the carpet out), but you can use lighter parts (seats, wheels, carbon fiber dash, ect.). Wings/Splitters allowed. Min weight based on engine displacement. XP: Race car shaped like a corvette with a stock chassis. http://scca.com/documents/Solo%20Rules/ ... ules_2.pdf

I thought the SCCA rules for the T1 prepped vettes allowed for open exhaust and factory brakes, no internal engine mods, factory option suspension parts, aka, T1 race suspension.
I no longer have internal engine mods, just a bigger intake, carbon fiber intake pipe, Grannatelli MAF, Predator power tune and Random Tech high flow cats with stainless steel Xpipe. Oh, C6 Z06 shifter, the Hurst was too notchy for my shoulder and the newer factory Z06 shifter is smooth and does not cause you to feel like your punching your car everytime you shift. Nick

60*.812= 48.72 secs 60*.856= 51.36 secs Yeah, what he said. Thanks Roy. That makes it clearer to see the advantage/disadvantage/difference. I thought I was missing something there. Being able to run the same raw time in stock class versus street prepared makes a pretty big difference. In my case about 2 1/2 seconds. That exhaust and BOV I had sure didn't help me that much! I'm glad I finally took the time to read the rule book. *** Choose your modifications carefully if you want to stay competitive *** I'll see you this season with my HUGE handicap of .812

Nick anything after the exhaust manifold is open in T1, but T1 is a club racing class, not an AutoX class, so different rules. Sounds like you're back down to ASP assuming you've got the OEM calipers. If you have a T1 class car and wanted to AutoX it, it would go into ASP, but ASP allows replacing the suspension parts with stuff beyond just the T1 spec suspension and it allows headers on the engine.

I think I am still knocked out of the any stock classes, I have the full Movit race brakes like Roy has. My other mods are the 04 Sachs shocks, metal end links and T1 sway bars, Doug Rippie aluminum radiator with engine oil cooler, DRM electric pump coolers for rear and tranny cooler, lowered using stock bolts. seems funny to me that by making your car safer by installing several mods like better brakes and a chassisconnector, you get punished by a worse index... i guess that is not what the whole index system was created for ....
