Yea, I think I'll wait until noon at least, just to give the fog time to burn off.

I'll bring the video on a CD too.

As much as I'd like to have the video, I'd rather go tommorrow instead of today, if the fog doesn't disappear quickly...

Judging from the ring cam the track looks a just a tad too wet right now. Although I have seen a few cars rolling through there.

Actually, we both went to the Ring and it was totally dry in the afternoon! :)
But there were some "technical" problems in the end... :(

Thanks! I think my Italian blood has the "go fast" gene ;)

Ben, the video's came out pretty good, just bumpy. The windshield mount actually worked pretty good, some vibrations but I think it's better than the hand held view.

(FYI all- after my last lap we noticed fluid leaking from my rear end, so I opted to have it towed home).

After being towed to the local ADAC shop, I had to wait for another truck tp take me home; I waited over 3 hours because it came from Trier. The new truck was a fixed flatbed with ramps and my car wouldn't clear it. So they put me on the first truck and backed it up to the new one, then I drove over to it. I didn't like this at all.

It took 3.5 hours to get home and then we had to wait for another truck to repeat the "drive onto another truck" procesure. This took about 1.5 hours. So I finally drove into my garaeg at 0130 when I left the track around 1630.

I guess the bright side is that I saved a half tank of gas :)

I still need to get under it, but my guess is the drivers side axle seal. I'll have to order a pair from Moser and then fix it on base. My garage isn't big enough to pull axles.

I'll be back next month with the Z, so y'all need to join me out there!

Glad to hear that it's just a minor problem ...

Oh, I wouldn't have thought that they switched the tow truck TWICE. :?

BTW, just phoned with my friend (Golf), he said, in the last lap where I was following you, you hit the (high) curbs at Hohe Acht once or twice... maybe that was the cause for the leak?

Who knows, maybe it was. I did notice fluid on the wheels the last time, but it was much less and I thought it was water and brake dust. I've never seen it during regular use, but it's been there for a while; it just really opened up on Sat. I'll try to avoid the curbs after I fix it though.

Hey A10,

What Moser do you have? I have the 12 bolt and wouldn't mind having a couple of seals on hand. You're the third one I have heard of here with a leak. If you order yours and it isn't too much trouble, add a couple for me and I'll pay ya back.

I have the Ford 9, but I can ask for the 12 bolt too. Are all 12 bolt seals the same? Let me know.

I actually still have a brand new axle seal from when I replaced the one on my car. (12 bolt/moser)

I think I'm going to buy these:
http://www.sealsit.com/lowcostaxleseal.asp

Their high-end version is $70, but it's used in high speed oval track cars. This version should be good for road racers and they're only $25-30 each. A little pricey, but I think it's worth it if I don't have to open the rear end again.

Anyone have a slide hammer here? I may need it to pull the axles out, I think I may have enough room in my garage to do this.

**edit**
Brian, I ordered 2 pairs of inner seals from Moser (part 7S151, same for 9in or 12 bolt); $10 a pair. The part above is an additional seal if you want it.
