I would prefer the the torsen/gleason style over the locker.
The locker would be the way to go if you lifting the inside power wheel on RWD cars.

Quote:
how unpractical was it for the street ? lots of wheelhop / noise in tight corners ?
and did you ever use a quaife type (see picture) lsd and how good was it for the autoX ?

Lockers are pretty impractical for tight corners, parallel parking, abs brake systems, traction control and electronic stability control. There is a lot of banging and clanking if the locker is locked and then releases as it makes a sharp turn, but after that its just a clanking action as the the dog clutches engage and disengage.
Personally I wouldn't mess with one unless I am building a off road vehicle where positive axle locking is needed.

I took your advice and bought a clutch plate limited slip for it.
This was somewhat less easy as i thought, as these where stopped being produced some 10 years ago...

For the amount of kilometers i drive with it every year (around 10.000) , i might get fed up with the impracticallity(?) noice and juddering of a full locker :|

the exhaust made a fair bit of noice  so any sounds from the axle, i could not hear
But besides that, i liked it !

For my cossie manta, i build a lsd with extra friction plates and more "vorhspannung"(?) to create a 85% lsd , but i really disliked that one in normal traffic, my fear for the locker was that it would drive similar to that one

Your fears are well founded for the locker. Lockers are very torque sensitive to acceleration and deceleration .
That is why I call it a three pedal differential. The gas pedal and brake pedal will cause the the locker to lock along with extreme decel from off throttle. Using the clutch can disengage the lockup for entering corners. The lockup is either 50% or 100% and it is not linear it is either 50 or when you hit the gas or brake har it is 100%. I am told the locker works extremely well if you can lift the inside tire while turning.
For what its worth the locker is more functional but less predictable then welded spider gears. But if you know the nuances of the locker it is better than a high LSD or a welder spider gears.
