... and did timing in Rotenburg last weekend ... weather was great apart from Friday afternoon with a couple showers. Lots of nice cars there, AND we finally had our working score boards with us! Look out for them next weekend in Bitburg!!! The track was OK, but traction could have been better ... especially the quicker cars had some problems getting going ...
Anyway, some 1on1 team members managed to take some time off to run in the elimination runs ...
Jochen (the guy in the Ford Sierra Cosworth) didn't quite make it to the finals in his class, after cutting a .503 in one elimination round, he managed an even quicker R/T of .473 ...
Andreas (the guy in the green Beemer) made it to the finals in his class, where he outran his opponent taking first place ...
Oh well ... and finally, after beating three somewhat weeker cars in the 16second class in the first rounds (like, slowing down at the 1000'), I lucked out in the final run when the guy I was racing first pulled ahead, then slowed down some, probably trying to avoid a breakout, but too much, leaving me .01s ahead at the finish line
(on all four runs, I had between .1 and .3 seconds on the other drivers with my R/T - average of around 580-600 I think).
Oh, and with the slight decline of the track, and despite the traction problems, I even managed a new personal best ET with my 'maro
Just did some stats for the weekend: Jochen had the best average RT with .565 in 3 runs (w/o the redlight), Udo Becker (the guy with the quick green Bug) took second on the averages with .577, and I placed third with .615 in 5 runs.
