Bitburg was fun why can't we just leave it at that. I'm sorry but all this crap about rules, breaking rules. I'm
going to go to bitburg to have fun. I'm not go to driving school. So lets stop taking the fun out of bitburg, or It'll be boring burg.
Just my view. Fbody member for life......

OK, just to make sure I understood everything right:
I will have to run in the ET class just because I forgot to mention some mods at the TÃœV?
And PR will completely consist of german ricers that have all their big mods like spoilers, ground effects, huge tires and even different exhaust tips in their Fahrzeugbrief? (Perhaps the TÃœV even allowed a cone filter for +1hp - Wohoooooo.)
Thats a guarantee for exciting races!
Golf GTI vs Golf GTI ("The guy on the left lane has tinted windows - i´m sure he will win!")
German laws a really great (and it´s good to know that there are ways around them).

I'm sorry, but the more I read about bitburg rules. And lets make this a grand affair. Is making me not even wanting to race. Or even drive up that far. Its looking like bitburg next yaer might not be as good. This is my view on what I've read here on this thread. Like hawk says. Let just stop the maddness at Bitburg......

You know salverson, I posted a reply to your post yesterday, but deleted it.
Know I got to write something again.
Some of you guys just seem not to get it!
You do not read the hole thread and just write to write, or what?
I try to bring in as much fun to Bitburg as possible,
even more than last year.
THOSE RULES ARE RACING RULES WHICH WE WOULD HAVE TO
APPLY TO IF WE EVER HOLD AN OFFICIAL RACE!!!
(as suggested/planned/requested by several people)
...and I try to explain that we do NOT officially want
to announce RACING since we THEN had to apply to those
rules.
WE WILL ONLY DO TEST & TUNE IN BITBURG!!! (that IS the loophole!)
(I apologize if I sound stressed, had four kids running through my house all day)

Chris you are getting close to understanding it.
But think instead of two groups named like
'Public Racers' and f.e.'Advanced (Public) Racers' with thropies for both. Sound not too bad, or?
With other words (sample only) a Corolla is
Public Racer, when I put Slicks on the same car would
be Advanced Racer.
If anybody knows a better name, suggest.
Still that would be only for the "Bracket Runs", because
Trophies there.
The "Grudge Runs" everybody can line up as they want.
Important Note:
We avoid the word "race" and replace with the word "run"
(another loop hole)

Here is what I'm saying. Why are we trying to fix soming that isn't broken. And trust me your doing more than just modifcations to bitburg. I had a great time this year at bitburg. Now everything is gonna change and change is not always better. Remember bigger is not always better. I also feel your going to lose some of your american f-bodys also. I understand about rules. This is what Bitburg is: having fun, friends, cars. Not a business.
If you can do it on the strip, do it on the street..........Fbodyeurope.org

OK, I think I understood it.
(If not, please correct it, Silke)
John, you have to read between the lines.
In fact, there will as good as nothing change.
Bitburg is no "Race" so the hard german laws for Racing events won´t apply at all. But Silke had to change a few formulations in the rules,
so that the officials and the police can´t forbid the event because of some stupid reasons. For example: "They call it public race/runs, but none of the cars has TÜV or legal modifications. Apparently they think illegal modding for public roads is OK." That´s the way I understood it.
I don´t know if harder safety rules for really really fast cars are necessary or not. (For example you can buy in Germany soon the new Bugatti with 1001hp/1250nm, run it on the public road with up to 400kmh, without a rollcage or a helmet or whatever...)

Chris I understand the reason for the name change. This was a problem at the last Bitburg. Or the one before. I just don't like the rules Idea.
Its just something simple like Bitburg, just looks like its gonna be more problems. And I'm not driving all that way to be told I need this and that and waste my time and money. On an event.

Chris you get a Star next time I see you, you got it right.
That Bugatti is set up from the factory to run high speed, including the frame, the brakes, suspension, shocks... every part of that car is
engineered by professionals to match and last this speed. If anything
brakes the factory will be responsible.
Just for Theorie: take that Bugatti and replace just one part with a none-approved part (i.e. brakes)
your loosing the backup of the factory and registration for the street,
and of course your insurance coverage.
Now go to some engineer and get a stamp (TÃœV) that this part is as good or even better than the original, and your good to go again.
When you now build up the engine in that Bugatti making it go 600km/h
then you start all over again with this engineer stuff... is the frame, brakes, suspension.... lasting this speed increase? Is it a dependable ride? Is it safe?
(Just a theoretical example why it is ok for a Bugatti to drive 400km/h on the autobahn but questionable for i.e. a Nissan200SX)

You have sticky tires, I should win the uphill sections though.
