No, not correct. In the bracket, the 'first red light' is not by the clock, but for the reaction time.
When you redlight with .480 reaction time and the other redlights
with .450 rt one minute later, you are still not the 'first' read light, but the other one is.
Because if you started the same time, the other driver would have left the line on a earlier redlight, that is meant with 'first redlight'.
In case of a dead even false, of course still the better race is the winner.
Same with both green light and both break out, break out the least wins.
This is all about math and logic, just got to understand once and I learned the hard way... since Rick is still laughing about me on my first bracket race half way down the track 'slowing down and waiting' for the other car to leave the line... which was about 7 seconds?
Bracket is not racing the other car, it is racing yourself, your own reaction time, your own driving skills, the reliability of your car.
Theoretically you could take a field of starters and let them run single down the track and afterwards compare the times.
Would be less fun.
And is more difficult to stay on top of your skills when the other car already is half down the line or you know he is blowing you off at the finish line in a 10th of a second, so do you want to speed up or will you risk a breakout?
That is what makes it racing! (oh I love it)
Sorry I am talking too much.
Öhm... my second bracket race I won the first trophy
With a 19.40 second car - so the slower may win
