Hey all, the weather is great(El Paso, TX)

I have, for the first time, taken my car out to the track. Being my first time and the lack of slicks I made a hellofalotta smoke and noise. While it may look cool, losing doesn't.

I am about to buy a set of Mickey Thomson 28x9.0x15 drag slicks($342.05 am I getting ripped?). They will be mounted on 3rd gen Firebird 15" rims (15x8.5 or 9.0).

Question one: A '95 firebird with stock height, will these suffice? Or should I go bigger or smaller, wheel well clearance is the concern, the car squats back and to the right quite a bit under hard acceleration. Keep in mind it still has the stock torque converter with a 1,200-1,500 stall speed, I will be up grading to a 2,200-2,500 converter in the months to come.

Question two: Would it be safe to mount two spare(donught) tires in the front as a poor mans set-up. I know that they're only rated to 50mph, but if only going in a straight line for a quarter mile they should be alright, right?

BTW I did beat a '90 Corvette  , right after having my azz handed to me by a NOS sniffing Supra.

On a final note, does any one know where I can get a drive shaft safety loop for under $70.00 that will bolt up, made for a '95 FB?
