That's why so many people resort to using nitrous, so they can say they're in the 11's...

I'm not a big nitrous fan, sorry! If you have had serious engine work done, then that is a totally different ball game! ;)

In defense of the mighty C5, there is no way someone is running in the 16s. I had mine get away from me last fall and I coasted from the 1/8 point to the finish and still had a 15.2 at ~65mph

as opposed to engine work for a stroker, turbo, supercharger????

...then yes I agree, if your motor is stock, then nitrous would be a differant ball game.

I agree. The people that put nitrous or a blower on a stock block are reserved other word from me:

Dumbass, clueless, soon-to-be-walking etc.

I just think you have it wrong saying or grouping nitrous in the easy way out category. A nitrous motor costs no less than any stroker out there. Hell, my ring package was 300 dollars alone. But I want it to last.

Now if you are saying why should I spend 200bux on a cold air intake vs. should I spend $500 for a lil bitty 100hp dry kit, I would pat the guy on the back that bought the 100hp kit. He chose wisely and got real dollar vs performance.

A SBC will ingest a NOS 100hp dry kit worth of nitrous all day, everyday, for years to come with a big fat Zero on hurt as long as the rest of the car parts are functional, and general maintenace is followed.

Cool. I would like to hit a shot one of these days, just to see how it feels.
