@ Daddy,
Take your mod money for the LT1, sell your car, and put it all down on a newer LS1. If I would have spent the money for my LT1 on this LS1 it would be in the 11's easy with new rims and tires, drag suspension, roll cage, SFC, and alot more. That is how much money I spent on my LT1 to go 13.6 To each his own. Your car is nice though. Except for the shopping cart wing.

Yeah I should be. The car is more than capable of doing so. Just requires better skills out of the driver. I'm not pressed though.
Jason keep your LT1. LS1's aren't no faster than us if done right. It's all in the heads. We know it's not a level playing field but if it were and we had the angled heads they come w/ it' be a even match. Stick a pair of AFR 210cc and matching bumpstick w/ LT's and modded LS1's would be chasing you all day and not the other way around. LS1's just have more R&D and is the blk of choice while we are left in the cold. No biggie. I like my LT1!
Heads and cam LT1's are deep in the 11's too NX we just don't talk about it and get the publicity.

You do that Jason- just in spite of EVERYONE. Hell, you ordered it, so you must have liked it for one reason or another.

I luv you man, but I gotta go left here. The LT1 is a Gen 1 SBC with reverse flow heads. 90% of the aftermarket is SBC.
I agree that there is more potential in the LT1 however. You said it, I've said it, everyone says it. Its all in the heads, no magic formula there. Oh btw did you notice that we have 3 heads to choose from now?!! It will happen, the 5.0 didnt have crap until until summit introduced the twisted wedge, now look what has happened, a new set of heads debuted this year, when did the 5.0 go out of production?
The ls1 is doing well (and I'm happy for that too, dont get me wrong) only because of the vette. When the current hi po V8's no longer have a current car, the true $ to performance powerplant will stand tall.
Daddy keep the LT1, but do your homework before you drop the dollars *cough* turbo 396 *cough*.

Rob the twisted wedge head came from Trick Flow specialties , I believe in 92 . Summit marketed it later on for them. I was one of the first to be in line to get a set , but I opted for the alu Gt40 heads instead.

Rob I know. I was just being funny. However find a pair of 15* heads and convert them and the game changes dramatically. Or better yet if anyone could afford those Aero 32 valve heads for the LT1 and it wouldn't even be a match.
I know we are the step children lost in the sauce but I have to have something to hold on to right? LOL!

Has anyone seen the LS7 heads? 3 valves per cylinder? It looks pretty cool, but they are not working too well right now, as that short pushrod-like thing doesn't like to stay seated.

Maybe, but that design leaves a lot to be desired.

Daddy they are called Dominion heads and they cost 5K a pair and that's not including the work required to mate to a LT1. I know a few guys w/ a pair and has taken the course of 2-3 yrs to get them finished. Are they worth it? YES 100hp extra w/out porting but you gotta have deep pockets to get them and get them to work.
From what I hear they've been discontinued but ebay carries a set every now and then and they don't last long on there when they do.

BTW they have been re-introduced as of late with a tall port design. The look like they will flow with the victors. what do ls1/ls6 heads flow anyway. Ported victors are about 330 int 230 exh

So are the intake and exhaust #s the same as the head flow #s? If so, wouldn't that mean that if the heads do not flow the same, then the cam isn't doing as much good as if they were matched? Sorry if I seem a bit dated or whatever, but I learn at my own pace!

the flow #'s I quoted are at .700 at .5 and .6 they are probably pretty close.
What do you mean Jack, if the flow #'s = the port volumn?? I dont think you find to many heads with equal int/exh #'s, your trying to put more into a head than out of it.
