I have the original ws6 wheels 9 X 17 with275/40 ZR17. I have to more ws6 wheels in my garage and i´m thinking to put some good tires only for quartermile on this two wheels. Which tires for backside only for quatermile will be good on this 17" wheels?
I can tell you that I have a set of M/T ET street tires and I love them. For the HP we are putting down there is no need to go full slick unless you want to. I did some looking into the 17 in rim range and found that M/T has a ET street drag radial (MTT-3743R) 275/40/17 for $177.95 each and also ET streets (MTT-3743) 26inX11.5X17 for $184.95 each. All recomend you run these tires on 8.5 to 10.5 inch rims. I would go with the ET street (MTT-3743). Just my opinion. Check out http://www.summitracing.com for more infomation. Hope that this helps.

Go with drag radials. MT/Et street slow your trap speed down and they actually slowed my car down. Drag radials won't swell at the top end of the track. I went 12.12 with ET streets and 11.90 with BFG Drag radials. Mickey Thompson is now selling drag radials that will fit your rims and they are supposed to be the best on the market.

I have some drag radials for some 16" wheels
If not, tire rack is a good place. Just ask one of the Americans around here. I'd do it, but you'd have to wait a few months. If you don't mind waiting, let me know

I'm running the MT ET Street Radials (drag radials) and I haven't had them out to the track yet, but they are damn sticky. They get my vote over BFG. Plus they aren't too bad to run on the streets if you want or need to.
