That is a pretty good checklist, but he forgot a couple of important ones concerning Fbody's.

Our cars, at least the LT1's, have the worst battery hold downs in the world. Chances are yours is broke, and your living with it, or dont know about it. When you tech, they will find it (I've been caught everytime). Also, if you dont have the plastic numbers, you need something to write your number on with. The best is the colors the highschool kids draw all over their cars with, the worst (an last resort) is white shoe polish(a year later, and you will still find residue from it). You have to write in 3inch letters on all four corners, so use something that comes off.

Yep, I took my 3rd gen Z28 to two Run What Ya Brungs. The first one missed the lack of a battery clamp (as had I) but the second one didn't and after a 250 mile drive, I spent a frantic 15 minutes tying the battery down with rags and a bungee to get through to race with seconds to spare to the cutoff time. I needn't have bothered, I lost every one, hence the LS1 purchase.
