I will change a few minor things about the setup, introduced the changes during our last meeting which you were not able to join.
I plan to back up with the tent from the burnout area, have a beergarden type of area/atmosphere with tables and benches between tent and burnout, and therefore put up a metal fence - with a larger and safer distance - to the burnout area.
Remember I used the tent and truck to secure the area because I did NOT have such (expensive) fencing, and it was difficult to put up tape fencing on the concrete.
With the different setup I plan this side to be open for spectators, but there won't be people crossing the fence/burnout anymore. The start computer will move back to where it was in the beginning: to the side and closer to the tree/starter position, which now becomes off limit for spectators.
The result will be a much wider burnout area, the zone will also be longer because we start the line up and burnout further down, and we will have more distance in between the two cars.
The most "critics" and suggestions I got: more party, burnouts, donuts.
For party we go beergarden and occasional live musik, or CD's. I want to keep it safe for families which want to bring kids, therefore still no GoGo's/Strippers. For those who are interested: There is a bar in walking distance.
With the safer burnout zone, we have the possibility to allow an occasional "burnout-show" or competition between two applicants.
Maybe when the timing team goes on break, but it still will be rare. Burnouts are absolutely no problem when you line up for the quartermile and to be honest, I do not understand what a burnout - except warming up slicks - got to do with motorsports
but some people seem to like it. For sure I will have the candidates pay for tire disposal BEFORE they start a burnout, I am not willing to pick up tires in the gras and dispose them.
Donuts: No. Too dangerous. I do not have the concrete walls to build a circle. One driver is able to handle his car, the next one might not.
