NXZ28 has written a short summary how to shift an automatic on the track, just read through and you'll be fine I think:D

@ Chewy,
Your tranny may shift different than mine. Yours is not electronic. The launch is what make the difference. Start at a lower rpm and work your way up. When I ran street tires, I had to launch at idle and only give it 3/4 throttle until I got past the 60' mark. I could feel the tires shudder a little and that was the sweet spot. With a good set of d/r you can launch alot more aggressive. What size stall converter are you running?

don't just smoke your tires off the line. that was always my problem and still is. I just put it on the floor and see what happens. never works out to well. I sit there spinning while the other guy takes off. I was never on a track so I could never compare 60' foot times. I am sure there is better advice out there from somebody other then me since all of my experinces were on the street more then a few years ago

Im running a 3000-3500(3000 advertised) rpm stall rating. my transmissions is a TCI street fighter 700r4, 3.06 First Gear Ratio automatic ( im not sure exactly shure if thats good or not)

I have a s-10 back in the states i race only on 1/8 but its a stickshift.
