I have gone up to Bitburg twice to watch the drag racing, and both times I have enjoyed myself and brought friends with me. Sorry, you won't see my camaro race. As much as I want to, I can't afford to take a chance breaking my car.
Now for my question:
Is there ever a "display" showing times? I would really like to see some of the times that people run. Even a "white board" showing the days best.
thanks
tom

we're working on a display, we might have it there for August, though I will not promise it until it's finished

Thanks for keeping us informed. If you need help, let me know. My shop repairs and installs radars for a living, and we don't have too much to do right now. I am sure one or two of them would love to help.

Hm ... nice idea, setting up a speed camera at the quarter ... heck, 100mph in a 10mph zone ... could make some extra money ...
Apart from that, you don't happen to have an idea how to get a reliable 11.5V @ 5A out of a car battery with a varying voltage of 12.5-13.7V? Using a normal 12V voltage regulator would not get enough output current due to 1-2.5V drop ...

Problem is that I can't put AC all over the place ... With the car/truck battery, we're more or less free to put the display anywhere we please, just need to feed the signal to the display ...

For the next Bitburg event, we will probably just put it up at near the computer where I can run it off of the DC power supply ... at least then I can set it to the Volts I need
Just measured two batteries today, they both came in around 12.3-12.5V while the car was not running ... if they held that for a while, I could just hook up the 85Ohm resistors I got to get it down 1V ... might have to try that and see how long the battery survives ...
