There is a new bracket racing series being prepared for the 2008 series ... here's a (slightly shortened) translation of the information prepared by one of the organizers:
Pro ET in Germany
We (Tony Brandes and Boris Baur) want to set up a new racing class "PRO ET" for cars doing 10.0-12.99.
Here's the basics:
- ET Index 10.0 - 12.99
- only regular driver's license or national/internal drag racing license required
- race regulations follow the usual ET rules
- street registration not required (tech inspection or car pass required - the car must follow the safety regulations of DMSB/NHRA for the index)
- 4-5 races in Germany, one result is being dropped
- a sponsor will allow for small prizes or trophies for the winners
Advantages of this series:
- equal chances:
- no matter if your car does 10.0 or 12.99 on the quarter mile
- no matter if your on a small or large budget
- PR1 drivers don't need to slow down if they're faster than 12.0
- PR1 drivers that can't compete with 12.0 times have a chance
- no street registration required, so no discussions about red, black or green tags or registration of modifications
- Nitrous or Turbo/Compressor permitted. Interior may be removed (though safety regulations must be followed)
- with one result dropped, drivers that can't make it to all races or who've had problems at a race can still be on top
- many different cars and therefore interesting starter field
If you're interested, plese contat Tony Brandes at
tb@gsra.deThis will probably be a really nice thing, if you think you'll be able to take part in this, take a moment to drop Tony a message ... they are doing a lot of planing, but without feedback of people interested it will not be possible to actually get this off the ground!
