I need electrical resistors to equal out to 1179 ohms of resistance to bypass the chip in my Key (VATS), Where can i get them around the ramstein area?

Try looking in the yellow pages for the word eloctronik. Ibelieve that is the way it is spelled.
If you were in Wiesbaden I could show you six of them.

My address is:
John Carroll
PSC 2 Box 7652
APO AE 09012
Let me know what i owe you and i appreciate it.
The purpose is because i believe i am having (actually i am pretty sure I am having) a problem with my VATS, the anti-theft chip in the key, either there is a wire broke in the steering column or the contacts are not mating with the key chip. If that happens then the car thinks that it is being stolen and kills juice to the starter and sometimes the fuel pump.
so if you take a resistor(s) that add up to the resistance in the key, which you find by connecting a ohm meter to each side of the chip, and solder them between the two wires that run up the column to the ignition cylinder the VATS module will think it has the key in there the whole time, thus allowing you to start the car again.
Thats short and quick, I found out about this because the car wouldn't turn over with a fresh battery and i took the starter out and jumped it and it was fine. I then put the starter back in and jumped it on the car and it turned the car over. So i checked for juice to the starter and the battery wire was supplying juice but the remote relay wire wasn't with the key turned.
Thanks guys
John

Hey John,
tell Ryan to call me either at home after 8:00pm or on my cell. I tried both #'s you gave me and for some reason they don't work for me.

I have plenty of them at work. I will drop a couple in the mail on monday for you. No problem.
I have had to do the same thing to make a remote start work on an '95. Pretty easy to do.

JC, you get those resistors yet?
Jack, actually the remote start was put on a friends '95 V6. But yeah, I had a '95 Z28 'vert, in red. I had that in Vegas.
