I'd love to get decent headlights in my 'maro, even though I don't drive it at night too often ... problem is getting them TÃœV approved ... :(

Yea I put them in my thrid gen. Big diff. Mine was just the conversion to allow you to put the bulbs in factory style headlamps. The third gens you just replace the whole lamp.

I would like to replace the H4 against the Xenon.

TÜV??? Is not the only place! TFÜ, DEKRA, GTU, etc. are official like TÜV!

Did have anybody test it on a 4 Gen? Do anybody know where to get chrystal headlights with perfect fitting?

Problem with Xenon is that the car is required to have automatic height adjustment for the beam, plus cleaning function (usually additional spray valves ...) - fitting a Xenon bulb and the starter circuitry would be easy ...

One of the FBE folks tried to (or actually did) build one two years ago - never heard whether he was successful or not ... search the forum for some nice CAD drawings ...

Hi,

I have get the information, that I must have clear headlights (DOT3 or DOT4) and manual or automatic hight adjustment. I have a manual one.

First I want to try chrystal Headlights (maybe enough or first stepp to Xenon). :)

Let see, how works the clear Headlights.

If you get the lights in AND they result in decent (finally) light yield AND approved (added to carpapers) , please check whether the approval would be possible for a '98 model, too ... (manual hight adjustment, too, and clear lenses) ;)

Sorry for bringing up such an old thread but maybe somebody has got some experience by now :)

Recently I have been searching for a solution to this xenon problem as well. It appears that in my country it is required to have the auto-levelling system in order to have the xenon headlights installed. As far as I have heard, there are rumors in the States that some export headlights (in other words - "euro") have the auto-levelling kit included (also OEM part # were given in a forum thread). Unfortunately I have not been able to confirm this, and to be honest, it sound unbelievable.

In my country it is also required to have the headlight washer system installed. Since they are not very model-specific (IMO), I do not consider this as a problem.

Does anybody know if there are any aftermarket headlights with this auto-levelling kit?

Anyways, should you have any ideas how to legally install xenons on a 01 Camaro, please let me know

edit: typos

AFAIK the Euro-Models have no auto-levelling ... I know my Camaro has the manual hight adjustment ... I don't think GM would have spent the money on putting in the automatic version for the crappy H4 headlights ;)
