just a thought, but doesnt your stock tach show where redline is? Do you suppose GM put the redline where it is trying to sucker you into reving up there, so they could charge you to fix the motor..... or do you suppose that is, or real close to where you should be shifting for maximum hp???
my lowly LT1 has been shifted between 5800-6000 for the last 8 years 6 of which were A-bahn driving, and never complained.
FWIW, I would never bounce the stock limiter if avoidable. Cutting fuel to limit revs is bad business, that is unless you enjoy leaning out your motor.

It will take some convincing on your part, to talk yourself into it...but, for you guys with aftermarket shifters (should be most of you) try doing this when you shift.
As the revs start closing in on your shift point, pull or push the stick towards the next gear (hard, dont act, put some muscle into it).
Cover the clutch with your left foot, and keep feeding gas with the right one. (This is your feet position from 0mph to stop, as it applies)
When you reach your pre-determined shift rpm, or the shift light comes on, just jab the clutch. I dont mean push it a 1/4 inch, you should know the position your clutch engages. Just quickly stomp it down, then either come off the side of it, or if you have billet pedals like me with the little traction thingy's you need to lift your foot up just as fast as you put it down.
You'll only burn 200-300 rpm once your used to it. I just started practicing at around 4k to give me some runoff room, until I got used to it. Been doing it awhile (years) and nothing went Ka-blooey yet.

I have gotten to the point that I can shift just before it hits the rev limmiter. It is set at about 6200 on my car. That will deffinitely need to change after the stroker rebuild.

Yes set it 100RPM under where you want to shift try to apply what Rob said about shifting. Then you should be good to go.

Jack... Is it going to be one of those SUPER HUGE honda shift lights that you can see in the car behind you?
