Hi all, this is the non-driving guy with the Black Dodge SRT-4 (Baby Dodge). Just wanted to say thanks for letting me hang with you all in Eisenach, since my SRT-4 brethren didn't wanna show up. I had a blast. Hopefully most of you will make it out to Bitburg next weekend. I've still got an almost full rack of beer to get rid of.....
I just didn't like how everyone kinda refused to line up with most of you...well, especially Hawk. I don't care, I'll line up with ANYONE as it's just for fun. You all have fine automobiles.
And don't forget the K-town "Cars are the Stars" show! If you ever feel like seeing what we are up to, we usually post on http://www.srtforums.com in the overseas forum, which we pretty much dominate that area (about 8-10 of us or so). I already did a write-up for 'em in there (giving props to the f-body crew too).
Man, if only they would combine the accuracy of Bitburg's laser system with the "entertainment" of Eisenach that would be just about perfect.
Thanks again,

Alex

Dude,
Good to meet you. As usual, I had a blast. Well, even if the weather wasn't as nice as I had hoped for. Can't wait to see your windows tinted, it'll be a knock out. The entertainment factor was off the scale. I have to agree, bring it to Bitburg and let's race for real and party. Later,
30birdy

... at the very beginning of Bitburg we tried some Live Music to 'party after race' but everybody disappeared right after the races were over.
And, everybody was very serious and concerned about racing and accurate times, nobody ever just wanted to come for fun ...

I guess now that you all know where you stand with your times,
you all are more relaxed  8)

No I did not leave, but I am very very busy at the moment.
I am learning for my job and hope to get an upgrade.
Then I am hanging around in the hospital 3 - 4 times per week.
Also I travel to races with the Nova whenever possible
(i.e. Drachten or Hockenheim/Recaro previous weekend)
past Friday Garry and I met in Dietzenbach, where we did the
timing on Saturday.
yesterday I had a 10 hour tour to Lake Konstanz to pick up a car
which my brother bought while Garry and my daughter worked on
the repair of the timing system at my backyard
and now I should clean up my house (since four??? weeks) instead
of typing here... while I am waiting for a phonecall to move somebodys
vehicle and to pick up my new used Z Hood for the Black.
understand?
BTW:
Daddy I got a set of 4 wheels and two slicks in my garage, if you are interested in buying them, look'em up on ebay....

(THIS WEEKEND there is the possibility of a free private Sale and Trade in Bitburg in the pits, if you have parts to sell laying around...)

I think that party thing wouldn´t work in Bitburg,
too much professional/serious racers (not really a bad thing).
In Eisenach like 90% of the cars were running 16s to 20s,
it doesn´t really matter if you drive with headache the next day...

I wondered if they perhaps should even use displays that can show up to 3 digits, could happen there. Never saw so many (riced out) series 2 Golfs in one spot... or a lowered, horrible loud "Digitec" Honda CRX with a guy thinking he´s the greatest - running 17.5 [...]
I didn´t race, but my car would not have been the slowest again

BTW i´m missing the sound of that gokart and that Trabbi, driving circles the whole day :x

So you say I could run my stock V6 and still beat the crap out of most of the cars there? Or, to go with the crowd, run my MR2, it should be good for a 15.5-15.7 ...

Yes, that was my impression.
They have just few pretty fast cars, mainly from that turbo tuning company (sponsor) - golfs, audis with way too much money dumped into them - running 11s and 12s, then a few cars running 13 - 15s turboed -insert here whatever-, but the majority is slower than that.

That is about exactly what I was told from many of the drivers there, they prefer the BBQ/camping possibilities and also the quiet time at least after midnight, I should not worry about strip shows etc., Bitburg would be great as it is: pure racing time for either fun or serious machine testing.

I guess you can never please everybody, and propably that is the best, go one place for racing, and another place for partying.

Also, I guess the "party" style attracts the trouble more than the serious racing ...

Personally, I think the combination would be awesome. Also, I haven't spent the night camping, but I've not seen more problems that I've seen at Bitburg. There really wasn't that many problems. What there was, was controlled rather well.

As far as the racing goes, the track and the timers are really bad, but everyone had fun and most, if not all of us will go back again before the end of summer. Even though the racing is not as good, they are getting the crowds, especially the spectators, but also the racers. It's pretty hard to argue with an event that attracts over 3000 people over the two days.

Bit burg is fun too though. Can't take that away from it.

I like both they are just diffrent. If I wanna give go go girls a ride I go to Race wars if I wanna turn # I go to bitburg both are good events. The stage is set to win big money in Race Wars for me. Swallowed a couple losses nobody knows what I can run however I had passengers and other pressing issues. And I kinda like goofing off playing cat and mouse.
