Do we want to make it FBE only, invite Bandit Online, or send a letter to some of the American car magazines such as Chrom & Flammen and Street Machine and invite any American car who wants to participate? We could also let folks know in some of the of the other countries. How about sending emails/leaflets to some of the other clubs.
If we want something small, just a FBE cruise will meet those needs. If we want to go big, that is also possible. For a big one, the Hot Rod Power Tour or Car Craft Americruise could be good models. Done right, this could be something really cool and a lot of fun. How about starting out with a poll on how big.
I personally don't think we want to go "big" as a goal - after attempting to organize a club cruise before (ended up with 2 cars and three people ), I'm just hoping to get a couple folks from the club together to enjoy some cruising in nice scenery, and have a chance for some chatting and partying ... keep it halfway "family" style ... something that's not possible when we go national and just call anybody in - this would end up in all work and no fun ...
Organizing something together with Bandit Online would be an option, we've known a couple from that club for a while, partly through meetings, or as helpers at the 1on1 events.

Garry, have you ever heard of the Hot Rod Power Tour? If not check out the Hot Rod web site a read a little about it. It is big. If I remember correctly, this year they had about 5,000 participants and around a thousand who made the entire trip. I have been to the end of a couple of the Power Tours when I was in Michigan since the early ones ended at the town where we were. It was something to see and was, for the most part, a family event. Personally, I have already told Linda that I am going to make the entire trip the first year we are back in the States. I can't think of anything more fun than being a part of a couple of thousand hot rods, muscle cars, customs, etc on a cruise. What an opportunity to meet other car enthusiasts and have some fun. How does everyone else feel?

Fine, you and which how many dozen of people will do the organizational work?
For my part, I'd be happy if we managed to get just one dozen of cars together! Which, in fact, we have not been able all year ... need examples?
Both November meets in K-Town, Bavaria-cruise, 1on1 dragraces, christmas potluck ...
Oh, one time we came close, Cars are the Stars - not sure how many we had there - but even there, I don't think we had a dozen ...

i´m very interested for this spring cruise. When i know the date till end of Januar 2004, then i can ask my boss for holiday for a few days. I think, it will be a lot of fun.

2001 was a great year, but not for John! I say the bigger the better, but let's not make it a complex issue. Just invite others, and if they come, cool, but if not, oh well, their loss!

Let's not even go there.. Let's just think optimistically. I don't think I will be racing next year, because I don't want to break anything, but if I do, it will be rebuilt by professionals, like MTI or Cartek!

Not yet - maybe Silke can give us the dates of the April and May 1on1 events (I know of May 7-9) so we can keep clear of them ...

Well, got the dates - what about the Easter weekend, plus a day or two before, so like April 7 through 11 or so ... what do you think?

I'd say again: April is too early, if bad luck it will rain on easter, and that long?
Except a few germans the others on the board have no Holiday on that Friday either - and whoever has some family may not be able to get away for the weekend.
Why not do a 4-July cruise? (2 - 5 July).
Liberal leave day on Friday and off on Monday for the US...
