Active duty Air Force, heads up, commanders are getting wind of the race this weekend. I know of one here at Spang that is having members submit "High-risk activity" letters before they can race. Might want to be pro-active and get it started before it becomes a last minute pain in the butt.

Right - and Autobahn and/or street racing is low risk??? Guess we should invite the guy over and show him that OSL is just the opposite ...

Garry, it's just an AF thing. They want to cover their *sses if anything happens. All you have to do is get a briefing and sign a letter saying you were briefed and it is "high risk". No biggy. I think there may be something in the letter saying that if you get hurt then you may have to pay for the medical, but I can't remember. Been awhile since I had to sign one. See you all there.

Speeking of this, HotRod did you ever get with our commander about this?

You think that is bad chickenkiller? The base commander here at Spangdahlem has a no passing rule. There is a road that connects Spangdahlem with Bitburg. The road is B50. Lots of Americans drive it everyday and it is pretty windy with about 3-5 safe passing places, depending on your car. Well there were so many stupid Americans crashing their beater BMW's and what not, that they started a no passing on B50 rule. You can not pass anything on B50 unless it is going slower than 40KPH. They encourage others to report anyone they see passing and will pull your license for 6 months. Talk about babysitting. I hate this base with a passion that just grows stronger everyday. I will be very happy when I leave in August! :p Sorry for venting, it just p*sses me off when they control me so much. Can't wait till May of 2004.......Call me Mr. Krazy :):):)

Krazy, was that the wing or base commander that instituted the no-passing rule or was it the Germans? If the Germans did it, you are out of luck. If it was the commander, you and several others should file an IG complaint with the Air Force IG. There is no reason for that. Also, in case you didn't know it, if you file a IG complaint, the report has to go to the Secretary of the Air Force if they are a Col or Col Select. Something that stupid definitely wouldn't help their career. Just some food for thought. When idiots like them get away with infringing on people's rights, they get worse unless something happens to make them think about what they are doing.

Jr, I leave here in 3 months. That is all the more reason to rock the boat!!! I bitched to the 1st Sgt when this policy was put into effect and he basically told me to suck it up and I basically told his to suck my balls. From what I know even the legal office told the base commander not to do it, but he still did. Even the Security Forces Commander thinks it is BS(off the record). The guy that is the base commander now did not start the policy it was the one before him, but the new commander didn't stop it either so I say let him hang for it!

KC10A what info do you have for this? Are you fimiliar with this type of thing? I ask because I honestly would like to do the rest of the people here a favor and end this BS, but I do not do anything with out knowing what is going on first. If you are coming to Bitburg remind me and we can discuss it there. Thanx, Peace
