Here is a question for anyone who can answer it because it making me CRAZY!! I have a 96' Z with a 4L60E 4 speed auto trans. My problem is to hard of shifting (I can smoke the tires in 1st, 2nd and really chirp them in 3rd) also going from park to any gear jolts the whole car. I have replaced my pressure solinoid and cleand the entire valve body. I have checked my shift kit and all of my bearings and cannot figure this thing out. I have recently brought the valve body back to the states where I had a trans shop check it out but where he replaced another smaller pressure valve. Does anyone have a clue as to what might be wrong or am I over reacting or what????

1. This is probably the wrong place for this post

2. The idle is to high for a auto. 800rpm is M6 territory

3. My96 is right to a degree that the shift kit is "shocking" the car ie park to a forward or reverse gear, it has nothing to do with idle speed.

4. Do you have anyway of scaning the car? If we had some of the cars readings, it may help

Well I took out my shift kit and put it all back together with the same problems coming back. So I took the valve body off and inspected it again and found another stuck valve. I haven't had a chance to check it since then. I do have the computer checker for the can and I hooked it up and it reads that my high pressure solenoid was bad. I have since changed it but to no luck!!! So I'm hoping that this little stuck valve was it! Crossing my fingers though!

My damn car won't break the tires lose at all anymore after I switched from GSC's to Dunlop SP5000 tires the damndest thing. It seems weaker, I think I am losing fire somewhere or the coil or optispark has had it after 92000 miles.
