I had a pretty frustrating weekend at Bitburg. Finally the track was biting hard and I ran into problems. I still have not gotten a full nitrous pass out of this car. It is unfortunate that I did not find out what the problem was until it was too late. I ended up hurting the motor on my final pass. I ran 11.13, 11.15, 11.03, 11.04, 11.29, and 11.51. The problem was that I had two fuel jets on the kit that were clogged. It is the downside to running a direct port kit with high fuel pressure. The fuel jets are .012". You can barely see through them. It only takes a tiny piece of dirt to clog them. I am going to tear it down tonight to see what it hurt. If I can fix it, then I will bring it to the Oct Bitburg and try again. This time it will be with the 200hp jets. That way I can run a little bigger fuel jet in it and avoid clogging it. It was good seeing some of you at the track this past weekend. I wanted to make a pass a stop at the auto X but I decided not to run it at all on Sunday. See ya'll in October!

Here is a video of the pass that hurt the motor.

Thanks. I just hope I did not melt the block.

Well,
I did a compression test on the motor at lunch. 0 psi in cylinder #6. The rest of the cylinders were fine. Now I have to pull the head on that side :(

Don't care if it is the piston or rings. I have brand new Diamond rings in my room and I can order my pistons individually. I just hope it did not hurt the block and mess up the head too bad. Lucky I did not sell you those head gaskets.

You have head studs right? That might make it a pain the ars but mine was easy to take apart.

I'll just take them out like a head bolt and then pull the head off. If that is too much of a pain, then out with the motor.

Good luck ... hope it's just something minor ... is that one of the cylinders that had the clogged up injector?

Got it apart last night. It burned two tiny slots in the exhaust valve on the #6 cylinder. No damage to the piston, rings, block, or sleeve. I have to order another valve from Patriot and it should be back up.

Glad to hear she is ok and nothing huge happened.

Im still struggling with traction problems and being scared of shifting the POS hard (running a POS T-3550). Launching at just about idle it 12.1s @ 119 MPH on motor (2.1s 60fts times) and an even slower 12.3s @ 126.71 MPH on the juice….launching at idle, no traction what so ever: spining hard in 1st, 2nd and a bit of 3rd. I had to lift in 1st and 2nd gears. I feel that on a “fullâ€

@ Naz,
That is a nice trap speed on motor and spray. I can never get mine to run out. What is your trap in the 1/8th mile? That is where mine starts laying down. Slow5.0 took pics of the valve. I think he is going to post them today or tomorrow. Now get a cage!
