Tony just approved the airfield ... we have a go ... letter to reserve the field is going out later, hope to have the reply this week ... people, we got some work to do ... please check the "need" list over at /todo.php and sign up for anything you can bring ... and let me know if I missed anything there, so I can add it ...
Only bad news is we won't have a quarter on the timing equippement ... the current setup only has 60' and 1/8th time with trap speeds ... we can set up for 1/4 (track's somewhere in the 600-700 meters range), but only for untimed runs ... Tony says the extension is ordered for next year, though ...

I told Tony we could maybe extend it (heck, what's 200m of cable? ) - anyway, he said the cable is pretty thick and probably has quite a few lines in it ... maybe if he could give us the plug picture/description, we could maybe build something ... at the expense of losing the 1/8th time, but winning the 1/4 time&speed ...

Hell, if it's just a case of extending a cable, that shouldn't be a problem.

Just finished typing off the liability release form ... half a page of rather small print, 6 paragraphs, 6 sentences. I hate lawyers and their writing ... Especially as I will have to translate it and run it through our lawyer once it's finished ...

Hm ... I would imagine maybe 8 lines, possibly as many as 16 in the cable ... I don't know how it works, I have not seen it ... I know it must be two light barriers per lane, plus two speed traps per lane ... maybe Bruce has an idea ... as it's set up for the 1/8, we will need an additional 1/8 of cable ... anyway, there may be a problem, if the whole cabling is done in one cable from the tree ... that would mean we'd have to cut the cable to extend it ... which I don't think should be an option ... we can always do the quarter for heads up, but will just have to go without time information ...

Is there any way we can build some sort of adaptor to hook into the connector so the we don't need to splice? What type of connector does it use? I work electronics also, so may be able to get peices parts.

I do not know about everyone else, but if we can get some 1/4 mile times it would be great. Lets not give up on the 1/4, but if we cannot make a cable, we will make due.

mile times we can mark off a 1/4 mile and just have grudge matches. Either one is fun I know I would preffer to have some times but if we can't I would just like to race someone.
