With all the folks having left (and leaving), and new ones having shown up recently, I was wondering if there is something we can figure out to do together, apart from "coincidently" showing up at places like Bitburg ... get to know each other, and just have a good time ...
Is there some date on the US schedule where we could maybe do something like a two or three day cruise?
Or maybe at least get together for a single day cruise & BBQ?

I am up for a day cruise. I had a great time at the carshow and the day before that on our quick cruise.
There is a strong presence in the Ramstein area.....just gotta get them motivated. I think with the distance everyone is apart it may be tough.
[rant]HOWEVER, tough does not mean impossible. Having people with similiar interests and different knowledge of the vehicle and what is available is a HUGE benefit over here. It is highly beneficial to get your butt off the couch and make a valiant attempt at making yourself known.
Additionally, the board is slow at times. Change that and post something.....anything. Let everyone know you are here.[/rant]

Sounding off! Better make it quick Garry because I ship the car in 3 weeks. I haven't been to an FBE meeting in my car since 2000!

And as of coming Saturday, I should have my car back ... maybe could even do something Saturday afternoon? Short notice, I know ... I'll be in the area though, picking up the car around 1100 I think, but will need at least an hour or so to do the basic tuning ...

Well, the Benz museum is in Mannheim. It doesn't have to do with f-bodies, but it is auto related (and I have not been there yet). Apparently, the first spark plug is on display there. Here are a couple of links I found: http://www.automuseum-ladenburg.de/http://jernie-hub.blogspot.com/2007/10/ ... nburg.htmlI will not be able to do anything until late Saturday or anytime on Sunday (it looks like they are open then also).

I'm not saying I need to do cruising around Mannheim - I just meant to say I'm in the area, so KTown/Ramstein area as a starting point would be fine (still need to do the base tune anyway ... which means I need something like an hour of Autobahn driving time, with a couple stops in between to update the tune)

Gary,
I would love to help you(well, watch really) tune. I need to learn this stinkin software and Ed was no help with that. I didn't even get a complete tune.
What time will you be in the area and what day?
We are short on time so I don't see the potential of a large group getting together. I can be if it is in the afternoon.

I'll be at the shop sometime around 10:30 or so (at least I plan to be) ... probably be talking to the mechanic a bit and possibly pay , but shouldn't be leaving there any later than 1130 or so ... after that, it's either back home directly, or via a slight detour Depends on the echo here ...

I'm up for something. I can remember when we would have a lot of people at Bitburg for all weekend, and they were from as far away as Grafenwoehr. If I know how to get to some of the pictures I had on the old board, I'd post a link to a couple of them. We used to do quite a bit. I first met most of the folks at a car show between Berlin and Dresden the first year I had my Camaro. We've had a good group go to Munich a couple of times. SRZ can remember it. It was nothing for us to have 6-8 cars going some where. Chris used to bring shwenks and barbeque at Bitiburg every month. There is a lot we can do if we just get off our butts and do it. I was planning to do some stuff on the Camaro on Saturday, but I could wait until Sunday. The weather doesn't look too good though. How about we try to get 10 FBodies at Bitburg this month? That would be a start.

We usually get 10 F-Bodies, just not necessarily all from FBE ...

Garry, is there some way to get to pictures that were stored on the old board?
