I am doing my best to be there.
I am not sure which day, but Sunday looks to be the best possibility.
Does anyone know what the schedule of events looks like. I want to make sure I can get to tech inspection and be able to run on whichever day I go.

You will be able to run more often on Saturday ... Sunday inspection begins around 9am through maybe 11am ...

Thanks Garry.
Are the inspection times the same for Saturday?

Work.
Damn work.
Having a 650 km one way drive to Bit and an appointment in Austria on Saturday which i can absolutely not move, I´m out for June.
A 1300 km round trip just for sunday is way overkill.
So, see ya all in July!

Sorry I couldn't make it up there. My transmission started acting up the last time I was there and it has been getting a little worse. I started up there this morning and it jumped out of third gear twice so I decided it was dumb to go up and beat up on it some more. I know I wouldn't drive nicely. I didn't want to mess up any more parts in it by racing it. I'm going to order a rebuild kit for it and hopefully have it ready for next time. Sorry I couldn't be there to race.
Jerry

well, you have 6 weeks to get it back up and running It was decent weather yesterday, and great weather today, nice and sunny ... good for hooking up the wheels ...

Bahn, sorry I'll miss you. I really hated to not be there, but I knew if I showed up I'd be beating on it. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to drive it home after it broke completely. I don't use my good sense very often, but I did this time. I probably won't make it in July either. I'm going back to the States for about 3 weeks for a conference and leave and I probably won't get back in time to get it fixed. I get back the Wednesday before Bitburg and I'm sure I'll be swamped at work.
Where are you going in Florida? When I retire I'm going to the MS Gulf Coast. Probably next summer.

KC10,
I'll be at Eglin so pretty happy about getting back to the South:)
I think she missed me as much as I've missed her. I'll be over your way hitting up drag strips hopefully in my Built Notchback when I get to it, I've also got a 67 Coupe with a 351W in La that I'm either selling to my father or grabbing it and startign working on it. Only problem with that car is body, and traction:)
Once I get my port call date, they keep messing up the paperwork, I'll know my fly date but I'm thinking around 25 July, if that's the case, I'l be there watching come 19th and 20th of July, buddy also told me I can drive his old 5.0 and see if I can get some better times out of it for him, shouldn't be a problem as he's an autocross only kind of guy and is just now getting started on drags:)
You were smart, tranny's need love, look at D&D for the kit to put in before it goes bad, I would recommend the Carbon Fiber ends instead of the brass, it's not that much more for that option and it offeres strength, that's what I have in mine on the T-56 and I've missed a few gears along the way.

I will be back either next summer or the summer after that so I'll be going to the drag strip in Gulfport fairly often. At first, I'll be in the Camaro until I get my Monza built. I have a 75 Monza in storage that I'm planning to make into a street/strip car. Hopefully I'll see you some time. Sorry I won't get to be at Bitburg in July, but I don't get back until the 15th so I know I won't make it.
Good luck in Eglin. You should love it there.

I've got a 96 Z71 in the States so I'll be towing my street/strip project around so Gulfport will not be out of the question when I get back, it's a full 1/4 isn't it, most of hte damn tracks around Eglin are 1/8th:( Oh well, I'll be shooting for mid to low 6's in the 1/8th when I get my pushrod engine built, and I'll probably go the cheap route with nitrous on it as nothing sounds as good as a cammed high compression small block:) Nitrous is just the cheater;-)
