As the other thread has degraded slightly to some smack talkin' thread, here's the essentiell things moved over ... Please note: I will delete any "my car is faster than yours" that should appear in this thread ...

-----

OK, here's a list of stuff I recon we will still need for Sembach ... Remember, this is only some 10 days away ...

- little cashier box or something for the money (not really that important)
- couple of chairs or benches; a table or two
- change (maybe not really that important as long as people come with some smaller bills ... - with spectators free, we shouldn't have too much of a problem)
- cones. Cones. CONES! George, can you call they guy you talked to about the helmet and see if they can maybe help us out there?
- flags and/or walky talkies for signaling/telling about hit cones/missed gates during autox
- grill, food - what's the decision about the food now?
- generator - my notebook will work on 110 I guess, but if I need to bring my printer, it won't ... who's bringing one, and what voltage does it have?
- helmets - small, medium, large, whatever ... if we are going to require helmets for all events, we will need to have some there ...
- marker for the track
- tent or something to set the timing system and computer stuff up in ... wouldn't want that in the rain, or?
- printer - I can bring one if we have 220V, but if we only have 110 w/o transformer, I can't help with that ...

If you can help out with any of the above, go to the todo-list and sign up ... /todo.php

Other open issues:

- what about food? Will we sell food, or just bring grills for people to fix their own?
- prices? is 50,-/Car & free/spectators agreed?
- who's going to be there early? I assume people like George an Tony which have a pretty short drive to get there ... I'll be leaving Hersfeld early, but I have to take detour to pick up the car, so it will probably take me about 3 hours or so to get there ... (unless I take it home the Friday before ... or Saturday) I doubt I can be there any earlier than 9am ...

I've also invited the Porsche guys over ... maybe with an AutoX set up for F-Bodies we can be a bit closer to their times ... :) And also, I hope some people can show them what torque and acceleration is on the 1/8 / 1/4 ... :)

I have a 110V inkjet that I can bring if that's what's needed. That's not a problem.
As for the prices and stuff. Sounds good to me.

I will ask tomorrow about the cones and whatever else we might be able to score from the Porsche club... Who has a vehicle with some room....

As far as food I think we should sell it.... The spectators will want some food and drink. We need to bring a grill..... I have a gas grill, but no way to get it there.

This should be pretty cool:)

I thought, I have some yellow wax china markers. they will work on concrete well enough to mark the boxes for the cones and won't wash off with a bit of rain, but would eventually wash/wear off. If you think these will do, sign me up. I have about 6 or 7 of them.

I don't know how early - Roy, didn't you go there 7.30am to do some testing? I guess you should be able to get there pretty early ...

I didn't hear anything new from Tony yet - somebody has to go by there tomorrow afternoon or Friday morning ...

Garry
It is best to set the course up the night prior and run it to check difficulty. Depending on course size it can take about 2hrs to set up and twent minutes to clear. So it would best to do the auto cross first and then the drag racing second. As for me I am currently on vacation in Poland So You Guys have fun.

Last we were talking, we were probably going to require it for the quarter, too ... might be a problem with the number of available helmets, though ... we'd probably need to have a dozen or so there at least ... guess we'll have to talk it over ...

Helmets should be optional... This is a one time event. If we did this once a month than yes, we could require it. We did not have them in Bitburg, so why now?

I just invited the local Honda club, should be fun:)

For AutoX we definitely need them, unless we set up a sissy thing like Bitburg had ... guess we should start making a plan on how to set up ...

Garry,

I do not know if we will have the cones or the time to set up an elaborate course. I also do not think we will have a large quantity of extra helmets to be loaning, swapping etc... We can go there the night before to set up. I talked to the porsche guy and he said that is what they do..

I am trying my darndest to get up here to our last organized event(according to the flyer). I have to rebuilt the trans before the seventh. My question I guess would be going out to Randy or Robert as to the time they plan to convoy outta here. Would have to be pretty early I think. I just need to have a comfirmation on that. I have been passing out flyers like mad in hopes that we would be able to raise a sizable amount for the victoms in NY/DC, while having a good time. I have been trying to get a few mustang people there as well.....should make things interesting. I gave one to my Brigade Commander, I hope he comes. He has a really cool red Nissan 300zx and he claims it's pretty quick. In all I hope that everyone can make it. Hope to see you all there. The Phoenix will fly again!

Chris
