Tony would like to set up 1/4 mile track for the 28th but currently lacks the cable. I remember some people having solutions to this problem. We would move the lasers from 1/8 to 1/4 and buy more lasers this winter.

It would be a case of making a jumper wire. How many individual wires are there and what type of connector? Any chance of a pic of the connector?

I am an electrician and can come up with cable. Just need to know how many wires. We can always splice in to a connector.

Dependng on the connector, you might be able to find pins that will temporaryily connect onto the existing connector, without haveing to splice.

I will get back to you on that. It looked like a printer round cable with about 8 wires in it. I will let you know # of wires for sure by tommarrow. We will be including Auto-X into all events next year because it was fun. I will not be able to make this one due to CMTC.

AFAIK, the cable will probably have at least 6 leads in it ... not really a common plug, though (not common to me anyway). Hate to have to cut the cable to extend it, with the real cable on order for next year ...

The cable has 13 wires in it? with a weird connector twist style.

A couple lengths of Cat 5 lan cable, which I believe is 6 or 8 core wire, should work if you can get it. If we can get a pic of the connector, we may be able to find some pins to put on the end of the makeshift cable and put it on the pins rather than cut the connector off. We have to do stuff like this regularly to make a temp cable.

Jack is that Log Ball, also called the wood party? Have fun. Sounds like a 'don't ask, don't tell' situation.
