Pretty hard to believe a stock C6 (albeit with the Z51 package) would beat a 911 on a road course ...

Nope it isnt I saw the ZO6 C6 beat a 911 gt3 in all the track times (fastest), but they didnt want to mark it red (red is wins out of 4 cars) you know german magazines!!!

They really, really liked the Z06, what really surprised me (Like you said: German magazines...). And god, that thing is fast.

But the entire thing became implausible somehow, as they keep on calling the engine a "L57" (so all they did was look on the valve covers?! It's hard to read, i admit..) and refer to it as a "big block" over and over again - they really could have done their homework better

It's also worth pointing out that both the Z51 and the Z06 are on runcrap tires compared to DOT legal track tires the the GT3 and a regular performance street tire for the Turbo. That's a huge disadvantage.

Put the cars of the same set of tires and it'd be worse

yes and give the cars the same cubic capacity and things would be very different

Don't start comparing apples & oranges!

The general category here was to compare several of the fastest sports cars & see which was overall the best!
Otherwise, I'd bring up the difference in cost 'Vette vs. Porsche!
