That car so reminds me of my 69 SS camaro, man I miss that car, sold it before I came in the Army,,,
anyway I believe that is the baseline version of the new camaro. There is supposed to be a couple of high performance options, one being the same blower as in the CTS-V, a real limited edition version and then some with better performance options. When they start showing up, I might have to jump in line to get the blower version, might be the best bang for the buck ride compared to a vette, yep, I said it. I think also, this opens the venue for Ford to start tracking the SVT's at the ring to get better performance in the handling.
I think from the video the clues that lead me to believe that they are flogging a base camaro is:
1. The rear suspenesion floats as the car is setting up to enter a turn and then has some yaw as the car traverses the turn. An easy fix with some stiffer shocks and leaf springs.
2. The body looked to plain (or at least because it was a demo model, was supposed to look like that) to be an exclusive SS or RS or RS-Z (supercharged-speculation) model.
3. The exhaust note does sound like a healthy V8 and does exhibit some high revving capability a few times, the driver was definately keeping the revs low, either because the road was wet or that the suspension settings at the track did not allow him to get in it. (I believe that because he did have potential to squeeze the gas pedal and did not a few times).
4. If I could afford another hobby car, I would get one of the new SS/RS versions as soon as they come out, they will sell like hot cakes, and as you can see, the 69 body style does shine through the new model, man I love it, I am still kicking myslef in the f..................in pants for selling my 69.
Ciao,
