sneak peak from the corvette forum. supposed to the Corvette GT1 "track day" car. Rumor mill says it's going to be unveiled at Sebring next weekend.
another set of stickers for the corvette
this time they're calling it a GT1. This is an insult. GM can do so much better
If you want to call it a GT anything, it needs some mechanical upgrades to make the car more track focused. ...and no one give a flying "He said doin the nasty" about chrome wheels on a "track day" car
. Around the world, every Porsche GT-3 owner is laughing at us.
I've said it before and I'll keep saying it until GM figures it out
paint it work-truck white
use the steel frame from the coupe/vert
put a Z06 body on it (lighter and room for bigger tires)
use and LS2/3 with the drysump from an LS7/9
fit it with the T-1 suspension.
Add larger oil cooler, diff & trans coolers
a roll bar similar to the porsche GT-3
add a factory accusump
ditch the radio, a/c, power windows, locks and all that kind of crap
leave out the carpet or at best put some thin cheap crap in there
put a real seat that'll hold you in place - The stock C5 seat left me with bruises trying to autoX in it.
factory 4, 5, or 6-point harness.
you've got a deal with michelin for the ZR-1, what's wrong with some pilot sport cup tires
Then call it a track day car. Until then it's just another sticker package and you're still getting my tax dollars to put this crap out.
I hope Riley wins their law suit. In case you didn't see that
