Hi guys,
because I want to use my Z28 (LS1) occasionally in wintertime I was looking for winter tires.
After contacting the Chevrolet Europe Hotline I found out that only two different formats are allowed for the 8x16" wheel: 245/50 R16 and 215/60 R16.
I was actually looking for V or Z rated tires, but could not find one for those formats.
I surfed the net from Bridgestone to Yokohama, but could find only Michelin Pilot Alpine and Pirelli W210 Snowsport, both only available in 215/60 R16 H rated (210 km/h).

Anyone of you using V or Z (ZR) rated winter tires?

Gunnar

PS: Today I hit 260km/h (tacho reading) on the autobahn!
It is amazing how the car is pushing!!!
Wind noise was awesome! I will not invest any DM (Sorry! Euro) in HiFi improvement! Its pointless. The V8 plays the music!!

I´ve got the Pirelli W210 Snowsport 215/60 R16
- the best winter tires I ever had!
Very good traction on snow and ice, almost no slipping on snow, no annoying noises from the wheels and almost no higher fuel consumption. And even at 225kmh a very safe feeling ;)

The only bad thing about them is the high price - but I think its an investment in safety.

Hi Chris,
I will also go for the Pirelli W210 Snowsport. In fact I have ordered them already. Its bad luck that they are H rated only. But in ADAC and AutoBild test they got the best marks.

http://www.reifendirect.de offers them for 250DM per wheel.

Cheers
Gunnar
