So...I'm nearly done rebuilding my engine. I opened my glove box to re-chip my ECU, and you'll NEVER guess what I found. A mouse was nesting in my glove box. Amidst a tangle of wires, dirt, and an only slightly chewed ECU chip. So if there is a lesson to be learned, never assume that your car is safe just because it's in a locked garage.

hmm, have a good mouse story also - no car involved though.

One night I fell asleep at my couch in front of the TV, the bag of chips in my hand. Woke up later on because something crunching and moving in that bag of chips...
Set a mouse trap. Since I did not want a bloody dead mouse in my appartment, it was a trap out of wire, like a little birds cage with the opening on top so the mouse could get in but not back out. Put some of those chips inside.
An hour later the mouse was caught.
Brought it outside, let it run free, thinking it would just go away. Next day I see a mouse running through the kitchen. **** it was two of them! Set the trap again, caught the other one, brought it outside.
Third day... I've seen another mouse in the house!
I caught 24 of them before I realized that it was always the same one... by now having a little mark on the ear.
Now I did not really want to kill that little pet, since it came so trustfull back to pick up it's chips.
But of course I did not want to have it in the house either.
So I started to bring it further away, for fun I even put it in different neighbors mailboxes and... no I won't tell all, but it still found it's way back. Further away it took two or three days, but finally, it did not make it.
I was glad - ran out of the third bag of chips.
But for a few days I checked the ear of every dead mouse the cats left in front of the doorstep.

So the lesson learned from your story is that no matter where I take my car or how many times I empty the glove box, this little pest will always find his way home...to my glovebox.

Was the car on Jack stands by chance. If so that's scary to say the least and I'd be pissed to no end.

Squirrelina you are bad!! That was funny. :D

I would be pissed too. Maybe it's a good thing I don't have a garage.. Just make sure you leave plenty of traps from now on, but not the nice kind! ;)

Oh man, those are addicting. I can understand. I start eating a couple chips and before I know it, the whole bag is gone... :O I especially love the Zwiebel rings that come in the green and yellow bag at the Esso... :D

If you had those zwiebel rings in your hands, nothing would stop me from eating them. Except maybe my wife. :o
