If you had about $900 to spend on a brake upgrade for a '96 SS, what would you get? I have the stock 17" rims and I don't want to change, so the brakes will have to fit these rims. I need something that works even when cold. The pads I got now need to be warmed up before they grab. Not a problem for me, but the wife also drives this car. They have to be able to slow the car down from repeated high speed stops without fading or cracking the rotors. I am looking at Baer and Movit, but I am willing to go with anything as long as the parts are readily available (nothing custom) and will last longer than the 6K miles I'm getting now. The kit can be for either the fronts only or both front and rear. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't want junk of course, something reliable and something that will live on the Ring. (when I finally get over there  ) Thanx for the input.

Forgot to mention that I understand that the brakes won't last 6K miles if I run it on the track. I was talking about everyday driving. I might be willing to change the pads at the track if need be...

Or you could save up and buy the Baer kit, or the Porsche kit from movit.de
