Details, ok, lets see... Just had a amp and some speakers put in on Mon, That's why I went straight for the jump. She was sitting over night. Haven't checked to see if the plug wire will arc to the plug yet, the wife isn't home until 6. What else you need to know?

Sounds like a short. If you hooked the amp to the ignition wire? If you go for a jump and that is the case you could do some damage. I would unhook it and go from there.

It was none at an audio shop... So I was thinking they knew what the were doing. What would be some of those symptoms of a short like that? i.e. would the radio still work? would it be doing what it is doing now? or would it blow a fuse?

Take it back to the audio shop and have them fix it.

So you are saying that it is the new stuff? Would I still be able to play the stereo, if it was shorted? It seems that everything else is working, including the stereo. I would take it back, but it won't start. I will call them in the morning. Thanks for your help, I gotta get it running for the $100. That is the funny thing though, I went out to the car to take a picture of your car in the rearview mirror. I cut your car out of one of the flyers, and put it in the rearview... see where $h!t talking gets me.

Bruce... got some other stuff to run by you. It has a hissing sound at the engine, when the fuel pump is engaged. And I disconnected the amp and stuff... still the same thing though. I just got one of our other hoopties through inspection so I can concentrate on my baby now.

The stereo install if done right should have nothing to do with your car starting -- besides a drained battery...

But a stereo install done right shouldn't have alternator whine either.

Thanks, I am completely stumpted on this one. It isn't the alternator making the noise, sounds like at the top of the engine. Could it be the fuel system pressurizing? Or is it sucking air? F*#^ if I know. I am about to tow her down to the Opel. Thanks for all the help though guys, I do appreciate it.

This just in... The Crank Sensor was f##kered. I didn't even know that it would shut the ingition down, if there wasn't a signal. Good thing I took it to Opel, AAFES prolly would have never seen that one. Thanks for all the advice.
